Underground service cable, conduit or not?

I put an addition on my house where the patio concrete would limit access to electric panel. Knowing I would need to run wire sometime in the future I buried 1 1/4” conduit. Glad I did as I have since pulled # 3/3/4 wire to power new building and another #12 wire for outdoor lighting. This...

Whats your opinion on skylight panels for metal building?

Looks great. Makes sense to place in wall vs. roof to avoid any potential leaks. I always get windows up high in my garage doors when I replace/install for the light. Only use the electric lights after dark. Natural light is soooo nice!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Which Generator for $1000???

Cheap generators seem to generate as much noise as electricity. Many of the brands are made by one manufacturer and sold under various brand names. The Predator has some decent performance and isn’t as noisy as the other cheap ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vehicle is about 2 inches too long to fit

Sounds very doable. Parking your truck in a space within 1” of accuracy. What could go wrong? If your truck needs to be in a garage, buy one that it will fit in. You will not be happy and it is impractical to park with such precision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Height of receptacles

With differing needs depending on where they are, I would put some low and some high. Things change, benches move, shelving and cabinets get added. If you have some high and some low, you get the best of both worlds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

JD X300 lawn mower shredding deck belts

Not sure this is the same as your issue but my Kubota ZT will throw the belt if I engage the PTO at lower RPM’s. Has happened twice with my better half. Instructed her to get the R’s up before engaging and has not happened again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Installing Casters on Garage Cabinet: Advice

Re: Installing Casters on Garage Cabinet: Advice (Updated Finished Cabinets) Nice job! I too wanted cabinets on wheels so I could re arrange and move for cleaning. My concern with typical castors was the height which could make cabinet unstable. I used refrigerator castors that are very low...

    2020 Lowe's deals/sales/clearance thread

I have had similar issues with Lowe’s. Actually picked the wrong part. They appear to be pulling based on shelf upc rather than actual product. I find a lot of incorrect parts in bins at the store and this seems to translate into incorrect fulfillment. I like Lowe’s but will not do any on line...

    2020 Lowe's deals/sales/clearance thread

Lowe’s is behind the competition with on line orders. I have done many at Home Depot without an issue. Have done 3 or 4 at Lowe’s and had issues with two. One I waited in store to pick up for over an hour (no it wasn’t crowded). The second one said available but was not. Never updated me with...

    Garden Hose Recommendation

I like their hose and reels. The quick connects not so much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garden Hose Recommendation

They fuse together with brass or other dissimilar metals and are impossible to remove after left on for a period of time. It’s called galvanic corrosion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garden Hose Recommendation

Both. 3/4 flows more water but is heavy to drag around and reel up. Switched one my bride used to 5/8 and is much easier. Both are 100’. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garden Hose Recommendation

Run don’t walk from that hose. Made of vinyl and dozens of posts reported on that material being garbage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garden Hose Recommendation

Most of the 5/8 hoses discussed also have 3/4” options. As to surviving being run over by a car/truck on gravel......nothing. One sharp stone and it is cut. May take a day or a decade LOL. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garden Hose Recommendation

If the ends are not brass, return it. Waste of money. Note that many manufacturer’s disguise aluminum to look like brass. If it is brass it will be listed as such. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garden Hose Recommendation

I have had the best flexible performance from Swan .....soft and supple. Lots of positive comments about the Goodyear hose. I had the end blown off a brand new one. Poor quality control. And don’t buy anything but brass ends. Aluminum will seize on to other connections and become permanent...

84 tooth vs. 90 tooth ratchet

The best value I have found in a 1/4” swivel head ratchet is at Lowe’s. https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-72-Teeth-1-4-in-Drive-Quick-Release-Flexible-Head-Ratchet/1000400693 72 teeth with very smooth ratchet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Does visual clarity vary my helmet maker? I sure notice a difference with sunglasses ( not welding LOL) and assumed the AD helmets would also vary. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
