    Craftsman drill press pulley question

Oops! Sorry for the delay. Grandkids have kept me hopping. If you turn the chrome cover/knob the tension will increase. There should be a small black knob right next to the cover/knob. Pulling it releases the tension on the spring. Be sure to hold the cover/knob when doing this so it doesn't...

Garages: are they for parking in?

Have a 2 car attached garage. All of my woodworking machines are on mobile bases. Wife's car is in the garage every night. She told me I could do whatever i wanted in the garage (within reason and sanity) as long as she could park her car in there every night. My run around vehicle sits...

    Cleaning paint brushes?

^^This! Dawn dishsoap works really well. Also, invest in a brush spinner (Dunn-Edwards has a good one) to help dry them after washing, then back in the cover and hang to finish drying.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Gads! After reading the last several posts I pretty much had a do nothing day in the garage. Between chasing after grandkids I was able to get to the garage and do final measurements for the two new sets of drawers for the workbench. Can make two sets each 20" wide or one set 24" and the other...

Bench question, backsplash? Other trim method?

My workbench is two pieces of 3/4" particle board glued (Titebond III) together, with 3/8" thick maple wood flooring glued (Titebond III) on top. The flooring was left over from another project. Trimmed the edges with one by maple cut to width. When the top get banged up I'll sand and...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: What did you do "IN" your garage today? Wow! Got some real "door time" ahead of you there. Just finished a door project for the kitchen. 23 panel doors. Lots of time at the router table and table saw, but worth it. Oh yeah, got clamps?

Dryer Duct Vent installation, from the inside?

Re: Dryer Duck Vent installation, from the inside? Check out Broan for dryer and fan vents/ I picked up a nice steel one for my bath fan. I Googled Broan dryer vent when I was looking. About the 25-30 ft..scary! Hire someone with the right equipment.

    Garage vents, water, and termites.

The vents are sometimes called "suicide vents". The thinking is that they provide an exit for exhaust fumes from a running car in a closed garage and thus preventing an individual from commiting suicide. IMHO that thinking is not very good. The real purpose is as previously stated, to provide...

I would love to build this bench.

My only problem with the Kreg bench is that it is only 31" tall. I'm use to working at a height of 36" and so is my back. However, I was at my local lumber supply house and mentioned my objection to the owner who informed me that Kreg was coming out with a new model of the bench with...

    Fast paint removal options?

Recently saw an episode on Ask This Old House where they used a product called Smart Strip. After applying it was covered with laminated paper with the brand name of Dumond (Paint Removal System). Let it set for a couple of hours and then scrapped off. Did a really good job. The client was...
