My First Garage - 20x20 Attached in Vancouver, Canada

After I spent a few hours in the garage, I had successfully removed most of the shelving the previous owner built on the left hand side of the garage. It was well constructed of 2x3 but I need the full width of the garage to be able to park two cars inside and have room to work on one. I also...

My First Garage - 20x20 Attached in Vancouver, Canada

Here are a few photos of the garage I snapped at the open house - this is the previous owner's layout. As you can see - he has a lot of shelves built on the exterior wall and a full set of shelves at around 8' up going around the garage. The challenge is that I will definitely need the...

My First Garage - 20x20 Attached in Vancouver, Canada

Hi everyone, Happy to be able to join and to share - I have been a car enthusiast for as long as I have had a driver's license, but living in one of the most expensive cities in the world has meant that it has taken some time to be able to afford to buy a house with a garage. My fiance and I...

    equipping your dream garage

In my opinion, there are virtually no toolboxes that fall between Harbor Freight and Snap On in quality. There are many that fall between them from a price perspective, but ultimately the HF box is arguable close to as well built as a cheaper Snap On and hard to improve on. I bought the SPG...

    Screw Organization

This is exactly what I am trying to do - can you share whether you used premade metal backings with the indents for the bins to hang on from? If so, which ones? Thank you

    1/2 drive.... how important

As an automotive hobbyist, I could get by without a single chrome 1/2" socket - just retaining my 1/2" impact sockets for use with my electric impact. I use 3/8" most of the time I am using a ratchet. -Mark

Want to get a couple new ratchets

In my opinion, ratchets (especially the “standard” ones rather than the oddball variants) are an area where the premium to get a Snap On product is not huge and they make great ratchets. As a keen hobbyist I love Snap On stuff but can seldom justify it when push comes to shove and I have to get...

    Newage Pro 3.0 Advice Needed

In my garage we had a short stem wall (approx 3.5") so we simply did not install the rear feet or the bases they screw into and sat it directly on the back and then installed the feet and adjusted to level for the front. -Mark

Another vote for "you must do it" - a ton of fun. This is a video of one of my runs this year in an open wheel Formula F car. Cheers, Mark

New Canadian Build - 18x24 Detached Garage

You're in Toronto - insulation is good. In my garage, the door appears to be far the "weak link" in terms of retaining heat and is noticeably colder, and that's just Vancouver. It's a drop in the bucket in terms of overall cost and will make a difference. -Mark

Minimum size for 2 car useable?

I have a 19Wx20D attached garage with stairs from my house projecting two feet into the garage, so effectively around 17Wx20D. I park two cars inside but only with my weekend car tucked close against the wall - it would not be viable both cars to be our daily drivers. If I had 20x20 clear...
