Are Fluke Multimeters Worth The Substantial Extra Money?

To swap a bcm in that you would need fdrs from Ford to program software, and then a parameter reset. Software like forscan MIGHT be able to do it, but I have not had great luck with it. In 2012 used might be possible, that about when they started changing security on them. Usually I find in...

    Mobile Storage Of Test equipment

I've seen a video where the guy built a mobile cart out of Milwaukee packout. Casters, a couple drawer boxes and hardwood top. Had all the usual diag and test equipment pass through and such. Probably pricey but could be mobile too.

Which twelve point sockets are required on modern vehicles?

Funny this thread came up, I just found a recent love for 12pt. If I'm working under hood or under dash I've found being able to line up to a fastener with less angle is pretty nice. And they hold just as good as anything else, unless it's rusted. At that point it's getting a smaller sized 6 pt...

    SK Tools

My only complaint with any sk product was getting a warranty. I tend not to use them so much for fear of not getting a replacement, or having to wait. Hit or miss, I once waited a year for a wobble extension. Their impact sockets hold up just as good as anything else. My favorite by far is...

Mayflower Balancing Machine to balance 20 inch rims with 37x12.5R20 Tires?

Once you get to those sizes it'll take over a pound of weights to get them in. Your better off spinning them and adjusting for run-out on the tires. Spin the tires 180 degrees on the rims and see where that gets you.

Torque Sticks - How to Calibrate/Accurate/Safe to Use?

The electric impacts don't seem to play well with torque sticks. The frequency of the impacts just don't seem to sync up. I use them regularly with air still for wheel install. I have one in particular that is a 100ft/lb but seems to set them around 135ft/lb. For the most part I'm okay not...

Anti sieze or Fluid film on wheel hubs?

I've been doing fluid film on hubs for several years now. Every single one. The rotors always come off on the ones treated. I feel like antisieze dries up and gets clumpy, and still doesn't offer rust prevention. It works though. Fluid film is much easier, Spray.

Best single edge razor blade scraper?

I have the titan ones and I never use them. For the size of the handle I end up putting too much leverage on it and snap the blade. Mac has a mini scraper that is the perfect size for razor blades. I bought a few and might grab a few more. I end up using carbide scrapers way more for surface...

Anyone with M18 shop vac...specifically water?

It works, almost too good. Draws the water in great but the tank is so small it makes it almost useless unless just a small cleanup. I still keep a dedicated rigid vacuum for water cleanup. I've found the M18 shines in small cleanup jobs like small mess control, air box, bench top, cleaning...

Milwaukee jig saws - M18 D-handle vs Barrel handle

I may not be using a jig saw as much as you but I've been perfectly happy with my m12. Although I have a few 6.0 batteries and having good blades make a difference. Same with the oscillating tool.

Dedicated Screwdrivers Vs Bit Screwdrivers Vs 6 in 1: Torque Abilities

If you e ever lost a bit off the end of your driver down an intake of an engine you'll curse the design for the rest of your life. I prefer the dedicated drivers almost every time. Gets frustrating when they don't stay in the end of the driver and the other problem is the shank of the driver...

Common hand Tools - how to organize in truck, HELP need new ideas

I ordered one of these for my Jeep. Can fit a surprising amount of stuff in it. Usual assortment of pliers and screwdrivers, full set of 3/8 and 1/4 drive sockets, metric and sae wrenches, small pipe wrench multimeter test light, tape measure, and misc fuses connectors wire and more. Rolls up...

    Large size wrench set

I've had a large size sunex set for quite a while. I'm no heavy equipment tech but I got them because I needed them enough. I like most of sunex offerings and the pricing at the time wasn't too bad. I can't remember anymore What I paid. My only complaint is they are skinny on the edge so gloves...
