    Inform Me About Table Saws

In addition to the quality issues, right-tilt saws can cause the wood to bind between the fence and the blade if the fence is even slightly off parallel, they also limit the distance you can move your fence toward the blade without a sacrificial face attached. The Craftsman Professional cabinet...

Every Man & boys Dream Place To Live And Work

That would be a dream place in Milwaukee; a lot of potential there for a truly droolable home & shop.

So when installing plastic tile, does one remove the baseboard?

Are the Daytona tiles made from a softer/flexible material? I was going to go with Racedeck but I don't want to deal with that "clack clack" sound as I'm walking. That would drive me bonkers.

    Finally gettin' started

Holy ****! That's not a garage, it's an airplane hangar! :) Seriously, there are times I wish I lived in a rural area where I could get away with something like that. This garage is bigger than my house!

Ah, good point! Most cable companies are going to fiber for their main transmission lines. I haven't seen any that actually go into the homes yet; that might be because it's tricky to work with and they don't want the "regular" techs to fool with it or it just hasn't been pushed that far. As you...

Are any of the snap together tiles interchangeable?

I'm looking into Racedeck myself & I saw they offered custom colors. I wonder what the price difference would be? Or they may have some sort of minimum order for custom colors. Does anyone have any info on this?

    Girls Wanna Have Fun, Too!

Hi Annette, beautiful house and my wife loved your kitchen! I really like your rollup doors too; it took me a while to realize they weren't swingers. :) What brand/model is the hoist you're planning on using? It looks like it would suit me for its capacity and design.

Update... my new 24" SK breaker bar

I think when HF says something is "drop forged" they mean it fell off the workbench during manufacturing. The S&K piece is nice. Someone else asked and I'm also wondering how springy it is.

Pretty much exactly what I would recommend except for the fiber. Fiber really isn't worth the trouble and expense unless you have to go a REALLY long way. Remember that you can get gigabit speeds (1 billion bits per second) with twisted pair copper and that FAR exceeds the speed of any...

Progress on my 18'x20' detached garage... Thanks Nathan. I can't wait to see it with some lumber put up. The company doing the building is Tuff-Shed. They had quite a few options for garages and have been pretty good to work with so far. Your brother should be able to find something he likes...

In the beginning, there was... this thing

It's been a while so I thought I'd post updates of my project. We're actually into the "build" phase now, with the demolition of the old garage complete and the new slab in place. The remnants of the old garage. It took them 6 hours to take down the structure and about 40 to break up and haul...

New guy with cluttered grage and new compressor 56kdeath!!

Ouch! I dunno if I'd be willing to lose a Corvette for storage, but I'd definitely relocate the household junk. Storage sheds are cheap and a lot better to keep some of the less-regularly used items out from underfoot.

Why? I laughed my *** off at that post. :)

    Air Compressor - Any Good?

I'd caution you on enclosing the compressor fully. Since it's oilless it runs a LOT hotter than a splash pump. I have a similar model and use it mainly for airbrushing and stapling, but have used it for filling the occasional tire and once with an impact wrench. The pump will get VERY hot if you...

    My small garage...

Great space! The combo of the white cabinets and stainless tops with eh diamond plate definitely give a "clean" look in both senses of the word. Are those just standard kitchen-type cabinets painted? Also, where did you get that copper extinguisher? I've been looking for a nice one like that.

Garage Construction - Start to Finish (Pics)

Mike, that's an awesome garage! I love the swing doors as opposed to the usual roll-ups. How has the epoxy floor been standing up when you drive the cars in? Have the rocks from the driveway been problematic? Also, why did you opt for plywood interior walls instead of the usual sheet rock?

    Engine Stand

I don't usually buy anything with moving parts from Harbor Freight, but they do have a few useful items. I bought the 2000lb folding engine stand and I've been really happy with it after 3 rebuilds. I modified the rotation neck with some brass bushings and zirc fitting to make it spin a bit...

    Garage Attic Storage...

You should be able to get engineering specs on the trusses from the builder or possibly the city. When I got my permits, I was required to give them a copy of the calcs from the engineer who designed my trusses.
