The item numbers also change depending on the supplier/manufacture. HF will often times have more than one factory turning out what appear to be identical or nearly identical products and the item numbers help them keep track of which one you have. Info request: Any one have a preference on...

No. Asking the lift to handle more than it's rated is asking for major problems. Stressing the lift a few times with more than it's rated weight limit may appear to work but may also leave you with some damage to the lift system that can't be seen by the eye, such as micro cracks and such...
