You will need a vacuum pump to do any AC work. Just like the gauges, you don't need top of the line for DIY. I got one on Amazon for less than $50, works just fine.

I kind of miss the whole ritual of replacing a pane of glass. Cutting the glass, the push points, playing with the putty, I got really good at it. I've never had one of these double glazed windows get broken, I don't even know what the procedure to fix one is.
