What Is It? Clamp? Tool Stop?

I've had this thing lying around for many years, never knew what it was for. Looks like a stop or indicator pointer that clamps on a dovetail shaped bar. Hardwood with brass threaded rod, knurled brass knob. Looks like it might have had a nameplate where the 4 holes are on the back.

    Keeping Vehicle Maintenance Logs

I have always had trouble remembering dates or time spans of past events unless I can link it to some major life event milestone. A repair or tires, battery that seems like just two or three years ago to me often turns out to be 5-7-10 years ago when I look at the service log - "seems like just...

    spring metal identification help please

I don't know how historically accurate you want to get on this but here's an idea. Pick up a stainless steel blank outlet cover and work your piece out of that. You can probably get that copper plated look by rigging up a simple electroplating setup in a glass jar.

If you buy from harbor freight tools and have your receipts....

It can't be a money problem but...**** happens. The lawyers want it paid out and the admins want it paid out and we want it paid but here we are a month later and where is it?

Nobody got an email unless you contacted the administrators asking where your gift card is.

    Best way to clean sockets?

Question: how much would you guys pay for a used single socket at a flea market? A while back was at a large weekly flea market and I needed to replace a missing 12mm socket. Now there are several guys with tons of dirty rusted well used tools, they come every week and throw their stuff...

Harbor Freight 1/4" drive torque wrench - are these just garbage?

I bought a HF 1/4" maybe a year ago, never had a chance to use it. Checked it a few weeks ago to see if it clicks, nope. I guess my only option now is to warranty it, not that I really want another one.

Making a motorized force carbonation shaker for Soda drinks (similar to sodastream)

I made an aerosol paint can shaker that attaches to my sawzall. Might I be so nosy as to ask why you want to do this?

Technique: using piano wire to find the center of a stud

For lath and plaster, this is the only thing that works.

Technique: using piano wire to find the center of a stud

But...but what about my $50 deep scanning, metal detecting, live wire finding stud finder?

    Wheeled seat/stool

I don't see any reason that should be so expensive, it's made in Taiwan fer crissakes.

If you buy from harbor freight tools and have your receipts....

You got a $60 check? That is so wrong. You submitted proof of purchase and got $100 less than all the option C people who simply wrote in and said "me too" with no proof that they had ever set foot in a Harbor Freight. This whole thing was handled so badly. I can only imagine the holdup on...

    Wheeled seat/stool

I did voice/data installs for 30 years, thousands of connector terminations and faceplates mounted low on the wall. It never occurred to me to use one of these seats. Come to think of it, I never saw any electricians on jobs using them either.

    Wheeled seat/stool

Yeah, that's something to consider. My knees are getting to the point where a jack would be helpful getting up off the ground. Maybe a motorized jack with a 3' lift capacity.

    Wheeled seat/stool

Even though I have one of these seats, I find it too high when doing brake or suspension work. I usually find myself sitting cross legged on the ground and use the seat shelf for a tool caddy and the seat to push myself upright after my legs fall asleep.

    Wheeled seat/stool

I have had a Craftsman exactly like this one for many years. It has held up very well. It amazes me that those cantilevered arms are able to support the ever increasing load I subject it to as the years go by. https://mobileimages.lowes.com/product/converted/503742/50374296.jpg

Cutting 1" x 4" mosaic marble tile lengthwise

Try putting the tile on top of a piece of 1/4 plywood or 1/8 masonite bridged across the trough. I wouldn't hold the tile with my fingers use a stick. If it's just a few cuts, try nippers. The cut is hidden by the outlet cover plate.
