Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Beautiful box up a creek and I am glad you are preserving it. Private Lugnuts, so you mentioned that the box was made by Duplex of N.Y for Snap On. Does this mean that Snap On did not make their own boxes? Have they ever made their own boxes? Thanks

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Thanks again!! I was with my Dad when he bought it. He recognised what it was right away. Me, on the other hand, had no idea and neither did the seller! I have never used it, so it lives with my other old automobilia and tools. Thanks again.

Snapmom, yours looks even older than mine and in better condition too. Real nice! Private Lugs, thanks for your information but I couldn’t see any numbers on it. It says Blue Point, Snap on Kenosha, Wisconsin. Usa . Is it possible that it wasn’t marked. Thanks again guys.

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Hi all, just wanted to show you guys this tool. As far as I know it was used to lap cylinder head valves that had a slot in the face. Anyone have others to show?

Any idea what this tool is?

It does have a small handle that sort of looks like something to lower a spare tyre but I doubt that is what it is. I sure would like to know what it is. Thanks guys so far.

Any idea what this tool is?

The ST in front of the part number suggests that it is a Cummins tool. ST stands for service tool. But I have no idea what tool it is. Right now it is holding down my bench, it is really heavy.

Any idea what this tool is?

Hi all. Do any of you have any idea what this tool is? It is in three pieces and the smaller round bars thread into the bigger one. For some reason I think it has to do with Cummins. The part numbers on one of the smaller bars is ST 1228/4 and on the bigger one is 3376037. I have searched a bit...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Thanks drives. At least I know what to look for now. I have stripped the paint and sprayed primer and undercoat on 4 of the drawers. When I finish the other 2 drawers I will take the box for soda blasting and painting. Thanks again. Glen

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Thanks drives. I have never seen another tool box like it here in Malta, so finding an emblem from another box is highly unlikely. Ebay and other auction sites are probably my best hope. Does this emblem have a particular name so that I will know what to look for? Thanks again guys.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Hi all, thanks timbicta for your explanation. So if I understood correctly, my toolbox was made by Beach in Canada for Craftsman and then sold by Sears, Eaton, Canadian tire etc. We have had this box for as long as I can remember and I am trying to restore it. By any chance,do you know where can...

Hi all. Just one last question. (For now anyways). Is there supposed to be a manufacturer's date or model number anywhere on my box? Thanks

Thanks for your reply VR6ix. There doesn't seem to be any grey paint under the red paint. And you are right, somebody did paint it. Me, when I was about 14! I hope to do a better job this time!! Thanks again.

Hi all, here is a picture of one of the slides and a drawer handle and the front door handle. You can just make out where there used to be an emblem. Any ideas? Thanks

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Hi all. At least I know that the photos are working!! The box has 3 small drawers side by side, the middle one bigger than the other 2. Then there are 3 other drawers that are the width of the box. The bottom one being a bit deeper than the other 2. The photo shows the small drawers. (I hope)...

Hi all, this is my first time trying to post a picture on this forum. Hope it works. Can anyone identify this tool box? We have had it for a long time and brought it over from Canada. If the picture works I’llpost some more. Thanks.
