    Mac Ratchet Repair Kits

Hi Ratchet. That is what they told me at least! This is an older ratchet because it has been in my Dad's tool box for as long as I can remember. If you happen to come across a repair kit and would be willing to ship it, that would be great. The kit would need to include the selector as it is...

    The Ratchet Collection Thread

Hi all. I don't mean to hack this thread, but I have been looking for a repair kit for a MAC xr8-p red handle ratchet for a long time without any luck. What I really need is the selector but would buy a complete kit if necessary. Do any of you know where I can buy one from? I've contacted MAC...

    What's wrong with me?

Hey all, thanks for the kind words and convincing me that whatever disease/infection/abnormalty that I have is normal and ok!! I only consider selling the lathe to be able to focus a bit more on learning tig welding. I already own a mig and a stick welder. Oh yeah and because of the space it...

    What's wrong with me?

Hey, farty marty. Yeah that's another thing. The lathe does take up a substantial amount of space and yeah I would watch that kind of show too. You are not alone. One thing I do like about machining is that it is a lot "cleaner" than welding. Keep your suggestions coming guys.

    What's wrong with me?

Hey guys, thanks for your input, all of it makes sense. Some of you mentioned that I should find a few projects, well according to my calculations I have to live to be 567 and a half years old to maybe complete the projects that I have!! I have a couple old cars that need some work, a few old...

    What's wrong with me?

Hi all. Maybe someone out there can give me some advice. About 12 years ago I bought an old but beautiful Cincinnati lathe because I had wanted one for quite some time. I don't have much experience with machining, so the lathe just sat there and got very little use. After about 5 years of owning...

Hey, G-Ram, what make is that red toolbox on top of your Proto? I have one that looks like it that I am restoring but not sure of the make. It used to be my dad's. Thanks

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Hi Drives, no I don't have any pictures yet, sorry. Maybe the seller made a mistake when he read the letters on the vise and he should have told me LMV! What are your thoughts on these vises? Thanks

    Question about bolts...

Just like steveo said. That part at the bottom is to help start the bolt. You may use ordinary bolts of the same thread if you want.

    Ward capstan lathe

Hi all, I have been looking for a lathe for quite some time now and today I found a Ward capstan lathe for sale at a very good price. I would like to know if I could use a capstan lathe for general machining. Are there any disadvantages compared to an engine lathe? Thanks
