    Expansion joint covers

I'm close to deciding on flooring. It's going to be between RD and just sealing the concrete. If I seal the concrete, I'd like to use expansion joint covers, so I can roll tool boxes and other stuff around. What are you guys using? I don't want to permanently seal the joints, just cover them up...

Have you ever wondered about the gas ?

I keep a 5 gal can of 100LL around for the power washer. I still drain the carb, but you could leave 100 in the bowl and it never goes bad.

Icky stuff. :wtf: I don't know what it is. They are just plain gutters. It's the primer.

We do. I had to get a variance for the back wall. Everything else is in limits. The stack of permits I'm having to get will make for a good size binder.

UPDATE: The rough electrical is complete. The inspection is supposed to happen today, then I can get to the insulation and drywall. Things will move fast after that. :3gears: I have my compressor picked out and media blaster decided on. The RD floor, will come first.

Valuation of an extra detached garage

I've been in my place for 15 years. I'm planning to retire here. I just built a 20x29 detached garage in my backyard. It will be nice when it's complete. I figure it won't bring much extra, but I'm convinced that if I do sell the house, the garage will sell it. It will have curb appeal.

Garage update with new photos! The exterior is complete. The auto door is a close match to the exterior paint. My painter said he can't paint a new door. Too hard to get the paint to stick. The floor has a little curve where it meets the footing. That is getting ground down today, so I will be...

    Quick compressor wiring question

The specs call for a recommended breaker of 50A. The electrician says we can use a 50A outlet, but I'm not comfortable with that, so I'm going to have them put in a shutoff panel and hardwire it to the box.

    Quick compressor wiring question

For the moment, I've decided to go with this. I won't be ordering until I get the floor down. The compressor is step... 50. :eyecrazy: http://www.aircompressorsdirect.com/Quincy-2V41C60VC-Air-Compressor/p855.html

    Quick compressor wiring question

I haven't spoken to the contractor yet, but a proper shutoff box seems to be the way to go.

    Quick compressor wiring question

Thanks. I'll talk to the electric contractor to make sure the box we put in can handle that.

    Quick compressor wiring question

Hardwire or plug? I'm starting to research compressors. Right now, I'm planning to have a 220 plug installed in my garage build. What I've seen on here, is that most guys are hardwiring the compressor to the box. Can you even use a plug for something like this? Thanks. :)

It's seems like a big job. I had it in my head to upgrade the service for a few years. The load calc determined that I was over the 100A just for the house. I guess 200 is the standard now. :bounce: If I can schedule it right, we can be working on getting the garage wired up while we are waiting...

Update to the TS garage. Roofing should go on tomorrow. I'll have some more pictures then. The paint came out great! Same guy that painted the house last year. We used Dunn-Edwards Elastomeric paint. Supposed to be very long lasting. They did a great job, so they will get the interior of the new...

Sure thing. When I finally get it done, I'm going to have an open house and invite the M2W crew. Chat me up anytime. I'll tell you everything I know... which isn't much.

The paint goes on tomorrow. The electrician was out for an estimate. I'll know in a day or so what the damage will be. It may not happen at all, unless I upgrade the service to my house. I only have 100A service and a quick crunching of the numbers show that I'm already there. I've come too far...

There is an 8x14 Tuff Shed next to the garage. I'm going to run power to it also. Since I don't have any yard left, I have no need for yard implements. So, I'm going to clean out the shed and make it the shop with the parts cleaner, grinder, all that stuff out there. :)

The 20x29 TS garage went up Friday. I was on a trip, and didn't get to see it. I will post pictures to this thread as I progress. The inspection is tomorrow, and they will finish the roofing and main door. Paint should be this week. An electrical contractor is coming out Tuesday to do an...
