    Ceiling suspended shelving

So I just got a new truck, and need to be able to park it in the garage when we get hurricanes or major storms. I needed more floor space so the old floor standing shelving had to go. So I mounted 2x4s to the studs with 4" spas screws. Then picked up some Uni Strut from the local big box store...

Unistrut/Superstrut shelving system - Help Wanted!

I like how the shelves are suspended from the ceiling. I might have to try a version of that in my shop.

Workbench build using H.F. 44 inch tool boxes

Currently I just have them on a shelf. A vertical shelf is a great idea. I’ve been thinking of making one. One thing I have learned as I have been organizing the shop is I need to find more ways to save floor space. I live in an area that can have hurricanes so it would be nice to be able to...

Today I mounted the benchtop tools to the receiver platforms. This also was the final step for the workbench build. I must say this was a blast to do. So here's the final pictures. Special thanks to SteveO for the inspiration. Thanks for following along guys.

I haven't given much thought to that. Probably a sacrificial sheet of plywood or Masonite.

Thank you sir! This was a fun build it took almost a year. I'm just about finished however, I plan on building one with laminated 2x4s as the top for my dad and I'm kicking around the idea of doing another thread.

Workbench build using H.F. 44 inch tool boxes

So today I had enough time to weld the tool platforms together. Hopefully I can take off the edges and get some primer on them tomorrow.

Workbench build using H.F. 44 inch tool boxes

Yahoo, another cold front came in to town! So to capitalize on it I did some layout work and cut the steel for the tool platforms I was able to get the holes drilled as well. Tomorrow I hope to have all the sharp edges taken off and every thing welded up.

Workbench build using H.F. 44 inch tool boxes

After A few months of heat indexes in the 110s, South Texas finally got a cold front. So back out to the shop I go. I decided to put some plywood in the space between the bottom of the cabinets and the top of the work bench. After a few beers some stain and faux glaze I came up with a weathered...

Anyone tried the new HF Welder?

I have the Hobart 210mvp and it far out welds the Titanium 125 except for one thing portability. At 15lbs and the size of a lunch box and no gas cylinder you can put it in the RV or a Jeep and it could save the day out on the trail or the campground if you have a large enough inverter. Here's...
