I have to agree on the lift...one of the greatest investments. I just got a motorcycle lift too that will double as an adjustable height work surface too. Info is listed below in the link to my shop build.

A while back I seen some blue pex at Menards that was rated 200psi. It wasn't the regular stuff they normally carry that's why I noticed it. I didn't pay close attention if it was Pex-AL-Pex or just regular pex. Just that that it was 200 psi. There are numerous threads on this subject though.

I was talking to Steve Douglas at Complete Hydraulic about my new Motorcycle lift. He said they have a complete Hydraulic shop and can custom build literally anything. If someone really wanted a nice properly engineered and built custom lift, I bet they could do it. They were on Extreme Makeover...

Yep I would definitely skip out on that Autolift, looks cheap. I wouldn't want to stand under it. I wouldn't have a problem with the Bendpak or Atlas. They both have a very good track record.

Yep I agree, don't say anything more than what's needed. Keep your doors shut and windows covered(great excuse for heat and A/C). What you plug into your building is your business. Look up definitions, ordinances, and facts. Call their bluffs and write complaints about the employees. Discreetly...

If you attach it to the garage, it has to have a foundation below the frost line. So you have to figure out if you want to attach it or leave it free standing and just run lines through the the walls. Then plan from there accordingly.

Yep i got the big framing hammer...its kinda wicked looking. Everyone likes it even women think it looks cool for a tool.

I didn't name the trusses, I'm just telling you what they are referred to as. Sorry i didn't measure the height of trusses at each end. I haven't noticed any issues with the walls.

They are parallel chord trusses, roof is 5/12 and bottom chord is 3.5/12. They were just carried in by me and a helper then set on the top plates hanging down then just slid them along the top plates and tipped them up into position. They are pretty light weight, probably no more than 90lbs each.

Not yet anyway, I don't wash anything inside though. The panels would be room temp with the R38 insulation above it.
