    Corded angle grinder reccomendation

I like my 4 1/2" Dewalt. Although it felt a lot heavier than it used to, the other day, whilst I was hand-holding disc brake caliper anchor plates. :(

    They Quit Making It

But who really knows what's in the Mexican stuff! :headshake They were putting Methanol (toxic to the skin & body) in most of the hand sanitizer they were exporting. I remember seeing at least 30~40 Mexican exports on the FDA's mandatory recall list, in May.

    They Quit Making It

It's a major conspiracy ! Happens to me all the time. Especially at the western MI Meijer grocery stores; e.g. where they sold a fabulous big (as in what used to be typical) can of Pacific Albacore tuna fish. But sure enough, after we discovered it and started buying it every...

    Show your “Crowntop” Craftsman

Well done (abv ^).  That's a beautiful vise, Kirk. And I should've specified that the ones on ebay were the sloped-top boxes. Anyways, I put 3 'Crowntop' tool boxes out for one of our garage sales, I think for $10/ea (the typ 20" long x 9.5" tall; all had normal wear for being...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

Couldn't get a tuit yesterday. Fixin to get back a tuit this afternoon. But does that torquing work—with the same torque value—when you hold the nut with a box-end wrench while using the TW on the hex bit socket. Or is that such a dumb question...that I'm embarrassing myself again by asking it. :)

    Long 3/8" bit sockets

Is her set USA? The going rates for USA on ebay are pretty high, imho. Ahh, right. I saw frankstools in my bookmarks...but forgot to check there. Thanks for that tip; I'll check-out the .jp and franks. ;) Kinda odd that there's no [Search] function at franks. But I guess they'd be under the...

    Long 3/8" bit sockets

Me too. Thanks for reply. RedneckWelder's post (abv ^) scared me off of ordering the Tekton 36-Pc long & short set a couple weeks ago, thanks also to this thread of yours. Speaking of Hex keys, I just got a notify that a NOS Craftsman Allen Ball Screwdriver set that I ordered has arrived...

    Long 3/8" bit sockets

Thanks for that suggestion, Dave !;-) Where are they sold? I see that our amaz seems to only have singles. So far, have only found a 1/2" metric 10-Pc hex set of KoKen, at toolsource, for $308 !:-0

    Guys, I need your help...

Very sorry to read of your Uncles' loss. Hopefully some can be salvaged. Been very sorry to see and hear of the widespread devastation. Hard to even imagine and wrap ones' mind around.

    Long 3/8" bit sockets

Thanks for that info Tux !;-) That's good to know, as it sounds like the long hex bit sockets would be good to have, just in case they are needed. I'm noticing that the best deals, price-wise, look to be the combo sets of both the short & long hex bit sockets. But most are Taiwan or China. And...

    Long 3/8" bit sockets

This ^^^ is what I was just wondering about, as somehow I've gotten by my whole life without owning hardly any hex bit sockets, short or long, except for maybe 1 or 2. :dunno: But I'm thinking of ordering a set, and was wondering if the long hex bit sockets would ever get used much for typical...

    socket rails

Anyone know if the Ernst twist-lock clips hold as well as the Tekton "Patented twist-to-lock design" ? I haven't tried either. But do like the Mod-Box socket rails I purchased a couple years ago. And have liked the Hanson socket trays (found at Menards for 1/2 price) that I've had in a US...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

So tight (when the nut starts spinning the mount) is tight enough? But does that reverse torquing method also work, with the TW on hex socket, and deep offset wrench on nut? Thanks again for your help & advice. Okay will try. ;-) Thanks again for your help & advice.

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

How do you know how far to tighten it down then? Just until it starts turning the mount? I bet Wrench97 is thinking, Wow, what an idiot ! ....because I thought he didn't understand. But now I'm realizing that it was me who didn't understand....that he was asking me if I could use the TW...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

I can't use a 18mm socket to torque the nut with because I have to stick a 6mm hex key into the top of the strut rod to keep the rod from turning as I'm trying to torque the retaining nut on top of the spring seat. New struts; new bumpers & boots; new springs; original (top) spring seat; now...

Frozen bottom of front struts on a rust-belt vehicle; how to free?

While back at my evening ambulations of late, I've noticed that you can't torque the front strut upper mount retaining nut....to 44 ft-lbs....unless you stick a 6mm hex key into the top of the threaded strut rod, in order to stop the strut rod from turning while you're turning the torque wrench...
