    welding pinholes in sheetmetal,TIG?

You should be able to weld this w/ a brass or copper block/ heavy sheet held underneath the floor against the hole using a MIG or TIG welder turned down quite low. Eastwood makes a little magnetic gadget to help hold it in place; a piece of brass sheet and some strong magnets should work as well.

    Truss strategy

We'd put blocking on the walls, then attach a long 2x4 vertically for a handle and then rotate the truss on the walls, and brace it to the other trusses already fastened once we were sure the ends were in the right spot..

    Electric lawn tractor

Given how much stuff I do with our 4wd 12 hp Kubota B5100 running at 1500 rpm or less, an electric tractor is certainly practical from a power standpoint. Since weight is often a good thing (esp. low on the chassis), even a lead acid system could be practical.

    Truss strategy

Those trusses don't look that heavy.... if you can coerce/cajole/con someone to help, rotating them down one at a time and inching them along will work; we built my dad's barn that way w/ much taller gambrel roof trusses we made. If you have a pickup truck w/ a hitch and rack, a vertical box...

    Vertical Mill hoist

Another option is a hoist on a Unistruct trolley which allows you to scoot the heavy items to a nearby shelf. This works well for lathe chucks, which also seem to be gaining weight. In my garage in CA I welded up a small set of shelves behind the mill that I could reach with the table all the...

Questions about converting a propane firepit to natural gas

Looking at the SDS sheet, the active protective agent in that product seems to be oleic acid - a fatty acid commonly found in various natural fats, including olive oil. If this proves insufficient in your environment, you might try Fluid Film, or even coating the valve stem area w/ grease.

Seduce me with your EMT runs...

Yup. Since emergency battery-backed lights are relatively inexpensive (some less than $30), I'm planning on adding a few to my shop so that when the power goes out when it's dark outside I can see any obstructions on my way to the man door.

Having the lights go out when an overload/short occurs is definitely not a good plan....

    Good electric paint shaker

For quart cans, I just shake them by hand and call it exercise; once you've used a bit of the can it mixes more easily. Gallons get shaken at the store. Marine anti-fouling paint separates quickly (heavy copper drops out), so those get the drill treatment (multiple times/day).

    O/A cart

It would be pretty easy to make a cart w/ four casters, two fixed and two swiveling. The weight should be biased towards to the fixed casters. Cylinders are pretty top heavy, which is easy to compensate for w/ a two wheel traditional cart, however. If I needed to cover rough ground, I'd make...

    Drywall Screws Attracting Metal

Interesting fact - a piece of steel oriented to match the Earth's magnetic field can be magnetized by striking it with a hammer several times; the shock scrambles the magnetic domains and they tend to orient to match the imposed external field.

    In wall or conduit?

I guess I'm confused. I thought we were talking about the wiring for the inside of the shop - receptacles, lights, etc. EMT isn't that great for corrosion esp. near the ocean; outside wiring I'd put in PVC.

    In wall or conduit?

Conduit really needs to go on inside finished wall/ceiling surfaces, so insulation and wall covering comes first. Note that insulation contractors can often get better pricing on insulation (apparently) than is readily available to DIY folks. They're also much faster putting it in, so it may be...
