    Basket for tractor

I often carry tools, chainsaw, etc. in the bucket of our tiny Kubota B5100, but every so often I'd forget and dump it on the ground. To get around this, I bought a carrying basket for a ATV and made a sturdy (leftover 3/8" x 3" and 3/8" x 4") bracket to support it off the ROPS. The round bars...

    Show your new tool arrivals

I was told the brush hog needed new blades, so I ordered them... and an 1 11/16 impact socket to change them out. I added on some impact extensions and universal because I could: Today I hauled the brush hog up to my shop and hoisted the back of the brush hog in the air w/ the chain hoist...

1-1/4" Square tube ; strength question I guess

I guess the reason the original gate was pivoted in both the top and bottom horizontal axis was likely to allow the trailer to be tipped with the gate open at the bottom and then pulled forward, distributing the material over a distance. You'll lose this with dual gates pivoting in the...

A question for small engine mechanics

If the engine doesn't start after tipping it, you may need to tip it some more in other directions to unstick the low oil sensor.

    Need a good Adjustable Wrench.

I used an adjustable wrench yesterday to rotate a stuck hex-handled steel punch to free it, and to twist an Allen wrench.

    Need a good Adjustable Wrench.

Nope... that's our Otter, 19' OA. The African Queen is a 30' riveted steel boat, currently in Florida as Crabman points out. We also have Rainbow, which is 26' OA, a Ship of Theseus Navy whaleboat that was completely rebuilt after a fire. Rainbow is awaiting some engine work that requires my...

    welding pinholes in sheetmetal,TIG?

Note that MIG .025 solid wire and 75/25 argon/CO2 is considered a good solution for thin sheet metal welds; I've had good luck w/ .030 as well.

    welding pinholes in sheetmetal,TIG?

    Using a MIG doesn't require a nutcracker.

    Need a good Adjustable Wrench.

I have a 6" Proto black finish adjustable wrench that I keep in my small steamboat toolbox. Space therein is limited, and this wrench doesn't scar bronze or brass nuts/pipe/tube fittings when I'm chasing the inevitable leak. I keep it well oiled (never a problem in a steam launch) and have not...

Milwaukee M12 Cut Off Tool - Sheet Metal Frustration

I have one of the Horror Freight 120V double cut shears; it didn't like cutting over the bumps in R panels, but it works pretty well on regular sheet metal.

    Cordless dirty water pump?

Small inexpensive automatic 12V bilge pump would work well for this. If you're doing it manually, they have them that run on 120V that I used on several long extension cords to drain my shop foundation during an atmospheric river.....
