What stuff still requires SAE even if your doing all metric work?

Between trucks, yard, equipment, house there's no reason to not have both sets on hand. I don't think it's realistic not to, I use both. With as much variance and tolerance differences in fasteners and tools and 'what they're suppose to be', I prefer to use what actually fits the best to...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Cabin with a Carport

Thanks! I tried to use sound techniques even though my execution is pretty novice. I was just happy to have gotten the pieces stuck together and the pipe was still straight lol

I mentioned a screwup that had to be accounted for on the front fence line. Today was the day. What had happened was the corner post and the vertical brace post ended up 3" off from what it was suppose to be. Essentially, drilling one of the holes I missed it by 3". I still don't know what...

    Between 485 & 705 SQ/FT Cabin with a Carport

Man what a beautiful weekend the weather made. Didn't get much of anything done I wanted or needed. Work's looming requirements put a damper on my time. Anyway, I did get up to paint the last 4 cross braces on the north corner, so it is officially ready for fence. And secondly but very...

Oh gah I would have lost my mind. That so true about the value. That's exactly the situation these help. Also something not talked about is now the wrench has forward and reverse for each offset side in awkward angles. Exactly since the plan is to move yo larger machines for the direction of...

So, to make myself feel better I ordered the Icon Large Set Metric reversible ratcheting wrenches. Took advantage of Labor Day weekend coupon. I really only NEEDED the 21mm. I won't fret much about the others.

That is the truth. Yesterday I finished sanding and primering the remaining 4 crossbraces on the north line. I plan to paint early next week. Which means by next weekend I can stretch fence :fingersx:

Ok got some pictures this time. Feel like I've been slacking on them. But first, the North line painting post update - all the North line posts have been primed and painted. Yeehaw, finally. But wait, still gotta do the cross braces at each end...but the verticals posts are done. So, one...

How useful are long straight no flex ratchets?

I prefer straight non flex tools, but that due to one hand and no support hand on the workpiece end to help keep tools in place. My favorite is my long handle 3/8" ratchet. Slim, has reach for torque and lighter than 1/2". Plus doesn't hurt as much if I drop it on my head or face when working...

Came in to cool off and get lunch. Man temps are so high. Been doing tasks here and there the past week to keep making progress on the fence. Yesterday the last of the old woven fence was collected off the North line. About half the tposts were pulled, the other half are going to stand until...

1/4” • 1/4 Sockets - Discussion on who makes the best and why?

Craftsman G-series from my 1999 USA made mechanics sets because that's what I use, that's what's the best and there is nothing else that exists :see: JK, I don't feel like that, that just seems to be the attitude around here lately, it's getting old. Heat must be getting to people. Yall...

Shots fired at Drill Doctor! Watch Wes Work

No bench grinder. Easy to put away. Easy to use. Gets the job done. I don't know why everyone is getting bent out of shape about it. If you use a grinder and are good with it, keep doing that. No one is making you switch. If the tool works for someone else, that's fine too. Different...

Can you roll an empty HF Icon 56" cab across grass?

Grab a couple plywood panels, put it on the ground and roll the cabinet over the panels. Move the panel you cleared to in front of the cabinet and keep rolling until you get to where you need.

Bob, I giggled a bit about you being scared straight with the 20" chainsaw. Mainly because I can picture it standing in your shoes. There's that voice that says out loud, "this is stupid, you will die, just don't". That makes it a bit easier to move on from that task and be at peace with...

Oh clutter drives me nuts, especially on the property. So much so that I'm still coming to terms with whoever determined the building layout of this place. re chainsaw - very carefully? :lol2: I will handle up to a 12" or 14" chainsaw, depending on the size, electric/battery/gas and the...
