    The Bowling Alley workbench build

Fiber board. Depending on which type of synthetic they're installing a sheet of fiber board gets glued to the wooden lane surface, then the synthetic goes on top, either glued or screwed or both. Anvilane gets screwed down, then the holes get plugs. It's a lot easier to remove than other...

    The Bowling Alley workbench build

Here's some shots of what Brunswick Anvilane looks like. Typical bowling surface look on top, plain-Jane on the bottom. Around 1/2" thick and very light. A full panel is 15 feet long by 42" wide. Easy to drill into, easy to cut.

    The Bowling Alley workbench build

Ugh...bowling. After over 24 years working in bowling just the thought of it makes me want to choke the **** out of someone. **** job with no future. Thankfully I got out of it years ago and I haven't set foot into a bowling center since then. However, it gave me the benefit of a lot of...

How to cut 6" PVC in half lengthwise?

Make a frame out of wood. Drop the PVC into the frame. Put a guide on a circular saw and run it down the length of the frame. Obviously for 6" pipe you either need a very large circular saw or you have to flip the PVC and cut the other side separately. Should work without having to do any undue...

What's Your Favorite Tool Acquired in 2016?

Save them for what, we don't work on cars, and O'Reilly doesn't typically create warranties on products, manufacturers do. So, the company is at the mercy of whatever the manufacturer or vendor says...if they say toss it, we toss it, if they say give it back, we give it back. There's some stuff...

What's Your Favorite Tool Acquired in 2016?

My favorite tools acquired in 2016 is the Ryobi 10" sliding miter saw and stand I got, and the Flexzilla Pro compact impact. Can't pick one over the other, they're both excellent tools and I'm gonna have plenty of fun using both.

What's Your Favorite Tool Acquired in 2016?

We (O'Reilly) throw these away like pouring out water. Whether they're good or not I don't know but I can say without a doubt there's at least 5 a week in the scrap bins. Most of the time they're missing a part, I have yet to see one that's actually broken.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

About the most excitement I've had in my garage the past few weeks is getting rid of the cheap orange Home Depot air hose and replacing it with Flexzilla Pro air hose, and replacing my garage door spring.

Home Audio Questions - Please Help This Newb

I use an old computer speaker system, Creative Labs 4.1 surround. There's enough volume to hear it over the compressor, and more than enough volume to hear it all the way into the back yard. I never crank it up that high though, when I'm in the garage I have it up high enough to hear over the...
