What are some good sand blasting options for garage shop?

If it's in good condition I'd offer $100-$125...maybe. They're all basically the same and they'll all need modifications to work properly. Upgraded gun, gloves, lighting, door sealing, etc. All you're really buying is the box and stand. Is the glass clear or is it pitted and hazy? You'll...

    Chop Saws

A chop saw will work just fine on your Unistrut. Check your local CL or OfferUp. I picked up my Milwaukee for $20 on CL. It was pretty beat up but it worked. Brought it home and tore it apart. After verifying the brushes were good, I cleaned it up and painted it, replaced the power cord and...

How do you store your corded power tools?

A neighboring business was throwing this away. Threw it in the back of my truck and hauled it home. It holds a bunch of my corded tools. Easy access and out of the way! Check CL or OfferUp.

    Welding aluminum?

Just an update. Didn't need to build any brackets. Drilled through the outside of the grill and mounted it directly to the nose with 8mm x 25mm SS buttonhead screws. I think it looks just right! Thanks for all the info and replies!

Help me finally get my garage organized.

A neighboring business was throwing this away. Not on my watch! Hauled it home and it made the perfect storage cabinet for some corded power tools. Easy to get to and out of the way. You've got a 2-car garage. There's plenty of room to line cabinets/benches/etc. along the walls. I've built...

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

Everyone's talking about using sand and the dangers of silica. News flash! Sand ***** when it comes to blasting, especially if you're blasting a rusty frame! One 50 lb bag of sand is $4-$5. Go to Tractor Supply and buy bags of Black Diamond coal slag. Get the fine stuff. $7.99 per bag...

    School me on Welding Helmets

Nothing wrong with the HF helmet. Been using the same one for 10 years and I weld quite a bit. The filter response time is immediate and I've never had any issues.

    Effective Sand Blaster Option

I bought a Texas Blaster and used it to blast my frame, body panels and various other parts and pieces. A little pricey at $600 but, it's a real blaster! Head and shoulders over the HF or ALC pressure pot blasters. The difference is literally night and day! Also, for indoor blasting...

    Welding aluminum?

OK, decided not to weld studs onto the grill. I'm gonna weld nuts to some brackets, 'glass the brackets to the inside of the nose and bolt the grill to those from the outside using SS buttonhead capscrews. Right now, I'm forming this shoddily cast grill to the curvature of the fiberglass nose...

    Wheel Stands - Stackable.

Mine are 4 PT 4x4's standing on end with a piece of PT 2x12 across the top. They're sheathed in 1/2" OSB. Basically scraps I had laying around. I store them outside.

    Welding aluminum?

OK, how about aluminum threaded rod? I can just cut a few 1" lengths and weld 'em on using aluminum wire. Local welder wanted $50 minimum to do it. The bosses on the grille don't fit inside the opening. Yeah, I could cut the opening bigger, 'glass some mounting brackets into the nose, yada...

    Welding aluminum?

I need to weld seven 1/4" studs to the back of an all aluminum grille to mount in my roadster nose. I have a Hobart 220v MIG. Is it just a matter of buying a small spool of aluminum welding wire and installing it in the MIG? I've never welded aluminum before. Softer metal, lower melting...
