    Hank, I have a 1947 Quincy 310 ROC-14 that has that same unloader. It is splash-lube and the unloader is activated by centrifugal weights on the crankshaft end.

    I’ve run into this problem in the past, one of my students for some reason ground the end of the rod. I just added balls to the collet to get the rod to reach.
