Between the River Hills & the River Bottom

Cracked head or head gasket on the truck? I've been driving a 2005 Silverado with 2 cracked Castech 706 heads for over 50,000 miles now. Added AC Delco coolant sealing tabs and haven't added coolant since. This was before the "quick fix", about 10k miles worth of buildup.

Australian GJ Members: Anyone have access to this product?

If you don't end up with a lead here try the Ryobi Tools group on Facebook (if you have one), plenty of members always willing to source them. These USB Chargers, the old colored "tool hangers", and the new Ryobi metal cabinets are all hard to find but very sought after.

    The Ryobi Tool Appreciation/Review Permathread!

Quick bump, anyone have access to the Australian stuff? I notice they carry a few more tools and they also have Ryobi cabinets out now.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Found new cabinet handles, 20 of them from 3.99 at Goodwill. All new. Not exactly what I wanted, but it'll do until I can get a new set of power tools. They all match now, and the middle cabinet didn't have any before.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Very crude screw driver rack. Want to keep the handles in the air to help stop any breakdown. Don't have any scraps to work with at the moment, only have a drill and an old Stanley wood saw.

    Let's see your toolbox.

Getting rid of mine! Sick and tired of opening a drawer to find something. Found these wooden boxes/cabinets for 60$ a peice and they are the perfect height for a workbench. Drawing up an "A" Frame type tool rack to hold pliers, screwdrivers, and files. Something like the Adam Savage mobile...

Oh I wasn't thinking cheaper, I was just thinking more efficient while you're in there. Electric fans swap would probably cost the same if not more for a decent set of fans, after owning a few vehicles with both I definitely prefer the electric option though.

You'd think that thing was titanium or something??? Not too savvy with tractor cooling systems, could you upgrade to electric fans against the radiator? Not worth it?

Is this a good deal? Proto Adjustable Wrenches

Terrible deal, I send PayPal funds now to make sure you don't fall for it. In all reality it's a great deal, definitely jealous.

Between the River Hills & the River Bottom

Re: Between the River Hills & the River Bottom Now that's an update!! As far as the vise cover... keeping it lubricated will be the best protection. We use T9 Boesheild and it seems to work well, if you spray it thick it will get waxy. I'll choose dirt over rust any day though. We used...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Do you put the ends above or below the divider? They hit the box with them on the top All the retail photos I've seen show the pliers in this direction. I may back it up to the drawer wall and see if it changes anything.

I also cleaned up the plier drawer, absolute hate the wire plier rack. I could see it being more efficient if I had a longer drawer, but I also hate bending over. (6'4")

The GM 6.5 is a fine motor, UNTIL it is compared to the 2000+ Duramax series. Buy for it's time compared to gasoline engines it was still a great motor. It was definitely a project but as with anything, maintenance will dictate how long it lasts. The 4L80 is a great transmission, be glad...
