    Socket Extension Organization

They are 16" x 7". I've thought about the Ernst trays to save room, but I have some extensions that are quite long and wouldnt fit in them. I'll probably end up taking those extra long ones out of the tray and just laying them in the drawer, we'll see. They have an 11 x 16 that has my eye...

Been a bit since I posted my recent acquisitions. Snap-On Striking preybar set. I have some older Craftsman USA bars which are great, but no striking caps and I'm always afraid of breaking the handle. Icon double box end ratcheting metric set. Been eyeing a double box end set for awhile and...

Has snap on tools changed (for better or worse?)

Thats pretty common right now. Snappys website has a long list of items on backorder. My roll cart has been on order for three months now.

    Socket Extension Organization

Well here we are two years later and I still have the same setup. I did pull all the Ernst rails out of their trays except the 1/2" stuff and made room for more ratchets.

Theres a reason why cheap tools are cheap!

Of course they do, if they dont they starve. No welfare checks there.

Looking for an inexpensive tap set

Just buy the sizes you need in a good brand with matching drill bits. This is how I've pieced together my "set" along with cheap cheap garage sale finds. No need to buy an expensive set where you'll never need 3/4 of the taps and 90% of the dies and no reason to buy a **** set and risk snapping...

Spring compressors for home use: which design is better?

I've only used the seath sticks. Mine have locking pins and are fairly safe. They cannot lock in the big springs on my 1 ton Ram though. I have yet to find a good solution for big springs like that.

    Gearwrench XL vs. ICON, Mountain...

I have the Icons on the way, should get them Monday. I found them for around 30% off on Ebay new. With HF not doing much for Icon coupons anymore I went that route. I looked at them in store, they are definitely all 12pt. I got the metric set.

Other than the fact they are carbon scrapers, theres nothing tying those two together. I know Matco is usually a rebrand of someone else, but not enough to go on here. Plus the green handles and storage tray are very nice. I like these better than the snap-on scraper for sure.

    Icon offset wrench set

I paid 21 cents less than that for my set from Ebay. Solid price.

    Icon offset wrench set

Thats exactly why I bought them. Long with a static end to break loose, then ratchet the rest of the way. I looked at Mountain and Gear Wrench as well. I paid $129.99 on ebay for my Icon set, definitely worthwhile. I may get the snappy non ratcheting offsets in the future, but I can buy a lot...

do you have cordless tools from multiple "systems"?

Yes, mostly acquired through gifts. I was given my first, a Ryobi drill. I was given my second as well, a Makita drill and impact combo that came with a 4.5" angle grinder. I was given my 3rd, another Makita kit I traded in on the Makita 1/2" Impact. I bought my Snap-On 14.4 stuff myself. I...

    Icon offset wrench set

I have the 0* offset ratcheting double boxes on the way currently. Found them on Ebay for 30% off. If HF started doing more 25% off sales on Icon I would definitely look harder at some of their offerings. You're correct, there is very little info out there about them other than the paid...

Great deal. Moat of my snappy pliers are stiff to start. They loosen up with a little use. Quality joint on them.
