Are these Power Groove bulbs still around?

I found this site that appears to have them, they're 8' bulbs though. Not sure what length you need but I'm guessing you're looking for 4'. http://westsidedelivers.com/GE_LIGHTING-F96PG17CWWM.asp

Garage Safety? Oops, I'm a dummy.

THIS. I have spent way too much time around loud things, be it stupid car stereos in my younger days or loud metal working machines, grinders, chainsaws, jackhammers, cars, etc. I have tinnitus to show for it now and it's incredibly irritating, especially in quiet settings. I wish I could go...

Unique tool box made from a 1950 Chevy PU

That is extremely cool, love it! I'm sure some would balk at the idea that they cut up a front clip from a 50 chevy, but I've seen much worse things done to an old truck.

    Frank Howarth

There are always people with negative comments, regardless of the subject matter. It's sad but that's one of the unfortunate side effects of the anonymity of the internet and the degradation of a thing called manners. Regarding the buried shop, I don't blame him one bit and his concept is...

    Craigslist Dreamers

jakemac is 100% correct. Hipsters and their shabby chic/industrial/steampunk BS have ruined prices on a lot of cool old vintage stuff that would otherwise get used to accomplish something rather than serve as a surface to display things on in an over-designed studio apartment.

Which type of metal for Rivet Nuts?

Superbec is right about the stainless, it will take a lot more effort to properly install the stainless due to how hard the material is. Even my steel ones were a bit rough to install when using the larger sizes. I actually broke one of the threaded tool tips installing one and had to order a...

Which type of metal for Rivet Nuts?

I have used a few for various things, I personally went with the steel ones for strength, and the application wasn't really prone to rust. Really the material choice is purely dependent on what you think you might be using them for. Outdoor/wet use with high strength would call for stainless...

    1935 Gas Station Resurrection

I think this is one of my favorite threads on this site to date. Love all your work so far. That's going to be an incredible work space when you're finished.

    X-Carve

I watched a bunch of her videos. She does very nice editing, and there's something appealing about her way of speaking. She also is very detail-oriented, which I really appreciate. Seems like in later videos she really gets the hang of the X-carve and does some open-source modifications to...

Project pool, indoor/outdoor kitchen, bar, firepit, shop

I agree, very nice! Superb fit and finish, really well done. I really like the finish/color of the cabinets also.

Above 1200 Sq/FT Eastern Washington Workshop

Congrats on acquiring the second lot. Just clearing that vegetation and getting rid of the foundation and trailer eyesores will really boost the curb appeal of your shop immensely. That compressor looks like a beast, I read up a bit on them and they seem to be a great setup. Your shop is really...

help with wood shop layout please

Delta mobile bases go a long way in maximizing flexibility in smaller shops. I have all my woodworking equipment on Delta bases. They have a foot pedal to step on to lower the front caster wheel and raise it off the leveling feet for maneuvering, then you lift the pedal up with your foot to...

    I agree, that is a man-sized compressor!

    Rotorazer reviews

I know this doesn't answer the question, but I always laugh at the "only ** payments of **!" If you have to make 3 payments to buy a $150 tool, just don't. LMAO

42x24 Detached Residential Garage Renovation - Edmonton, Alberta

Really nice size garage, that's an awesome find. Doors will definitely hurt the piggy bank but will be worth every penny once they're in and the space is insulated even better by them. Side note, I love your truck!

    What's your workbench look like?

Search "Check-a-thread" on eBay or Amazon, they're ~$80/pair usually. Very handy to have.

    Compressor Enclosure

Probably not a huge issue in AZ, but I know if I dug a hole in the ground that deep with no drainage it would end up with water in it before long, and it would be a ***** to get out. All other issues with this install aside, I think I would have formed a sump area somewhere in the bottom with an...

Someone please talk me out of buying this

Is it just the photos or is that plate as bowed upward as it looks? If so, with that thick of plate I doubt any straightening would even be possible. A big flat surface like that would be useless to me if it wasn't flat.

    Tool Crib of the North

This has been one of the most satisfying threads I've ever seen on GJ. You do very detailed, quality work. It's inspiring to say the least. I'm planning a detached shop build in a few years, I'll most definitely be referring back to this thread when the time comes. Subbed for future updates!

    1935 Gas Station Resurrection

Looks great with the trim all painted! What's the plan for the doors, repaint white? I definitely like the idea of a gas pump on the pad between the doors. That spot just seems too perfect for a pump to not put one there. Plus, you'll have a view of it through those two windows. Maybe a couple...
