    What is this toolbox for?

My daughter pulled it out of a dumpster. The dividers remind me of a CD case.

    Electrical Terminal Release Kit Recomendations

I'm looking for tools to release electrical terminals from the connectors. 60% asian, 30% euro, 10% domestics vehicles. Ideally I want a small kit with the most used tools, I definitely do not want an amazon keyring kit with 700 different tools. Looking at something like Matco 7-piece...

    Snap On T-handle box wrenches?

Do any of you use these reciprocating-style T-handle wrenches? Do they work well? I was doing valve covers on a Subaru today and thought something like this could be useful in that it has the reach of a long wrench but doesn't require the swing room to ratchet it...

    Honda Undertray Screws

Here is an easy one for Honda guys: what is the best tool for the quarter-turn fasteners on a Civic undertray? I have been using a big flathead, but it is not a great fit. Do I need a huge flathead?

    Multi-source single output fluid pump?

I'd like to rig up a single pump nozzle that can pump from any of several different containers. I figure it needs some sort of selectable manifold; a pushbutton selectable would be cool, but a lever or something would work too. Does something like that exist?

Torx Bit Insert 30mm or maybe 1.25" OAL - where to find?

I have an old Torx set with some sentimental value. Today I snapped the T40. The bit insert is (obviously) broken and difficult to measure, but best I can tel it should be 30mm or possibly 1-1/4" long. I cannot seem to find these in 1/4, the 1-1/4" all seem to be 5/16. Any suggestions on...

    BOC gas stations and paraphernalia

Forgive me if this is not the right forum, but I figured this was tangential to the Automobile Paraphernalia thread. My mom and her family used to visit a gas station they called "the BOC" near the family lakehouse in rural Georgia, from probably the late fifties through late seventies. By...

Grease gun fittings - multiple sizes?

I mostly work on stuff with sealed bearings and joints, so I am not a grease gun expert. I just got a new Lincoln pistol grip, and instead of pushing grease into the zerks it flows out around them - multiple cars, multiple joints, so I don't think it is a zerk problem. I threw out the broken...

Screwdriver Sets #3 phillips available? Copy of old Snap-On or Mac square style

There are inexpenseive screwdriver sets from K-tool, Performance Tool, etc that mimic the look of old Snap On or Mac square handle screwdrivers. I was looking at these as a backup set because I like the retro look, but there is no #3 Phillips. It appears the individual drivers are available in...

Stanley sockets at Walmart, early 2000's

I was working on some European car that had 12 point caliper bracket bolts for some reason, so I pulled these out: Sometime around 2000-2005ish Walmart sold Stanley tools, and actually had a pretty good selection. This 1/2" metric 12-pt set goes from 12mm to 36mm and was made in Taiwan. If I...

    Unidentified Metal coating removal?

These are old no-name fan clutch tools that have a thin silver coating of some sort that is flaking off. How can I safely chemically remove it? No luck with either lye or vinegar so far. Thanks!

    Husky "H_" 18mm wrench 33518

I am looking for an 18mm Husky wrench with the H that has a little dogleg underlining the U. I bought this set in the late 90's and it did not have 18. Thanks!

Craftsman 90's tool box grey drawer paint

This has probably been discussed, but I can't find it in the archives. Is there an off-the-shelf paint for the dark gray, almost-black drawers on 90's vintage red and black roller combo toolboxes? I haven't found anything on the shelf at Home Depot or Lowes. Massey Ferguson gray online looks...

    Safety-pin style wrench organizer?

I would like this style bent wire clamp to organize a few sets of wrenches (ignition, torque adapter, blah blah). 1, are they available anywhere (cheap) commercially? 2, what metal would be appropriate to make my own with the appropriate springiness and corrosion resistance? Coat hanger...

Best use of end locker; Drawer vs end locker for blowmold-type kits?

Sorry if there are other threads covering this, but I searched and didn't find much. Short version: why would I choose a locker instead of a box with plenty of correctly-sized drawers? I have a small roller for most of my hand tools and all of my blow-old kits are in a metal door cabinet...

Icon T10 Scan Tool - experiences? module programming?

Has anyone tried the Icon T10 scan tool? From what I see it looks pretty capable, but I cannot find any information on whether or not it can program replacement modules.

Torque Wrench - how to calibrate with metal filled handle?

I am trying to disassemble an old Torque Controls (same as Utica) torque wrench. The end of the handle is filled with a soft metal that looks like it was a liquid when it went in, as opposed to the more common removable end cap. Does anyone know what this is or how to remove it? Should I put...

Utica Torque Wrench Project; handle seal material?

I picked up an old Torque Controls Inc (later Utica) 3/8 inch torque wrench. It turns out the ratchet was stripped. Ratchet heads appear to be NLA, so I'm going to try to fab one out of an old ratchet. The handles on these are sealed with some sort of soft metal that appears to have been put...

Snap On Torque Wrench Pivot Bolt Repair

I have an older Snap On CDI-made flex-head torque wrench with a broken pivot pin. The pin is available from Snap On, but I am not sure how to change it. It is pressed in? I'm assuming a hammer and punch would not be the way to go. I appreciate any advice!
