I think one of my tool truck drivers has had it with non payers

This is my attitude for almost any tool. I have gotten to the point where I skip over all of the ridiculous warranty threads. I can count the tools I have broken in thirty years on one hand. If you are breaking tools all the time, you should probably reexamine your work practices.

Speed Handles --- What They Good For?

Great question, I also have a Snap On with some roughness in the handle. So far brakekleen and oil have not helped.

    Hazet tool thread

Was the intent on these trolley attachments that they would be swapped depending on the job at hand, or that each cart might be permanently set up for a specific job? Or did it depend on the user?

Speed Handles --- What They Good For?

I decided to use them today while doing spark plugs on some kind of Audi. I think they were just as fast as the electric ratchet. However, there was a much more enjoyable Zen like feeling to the job. I also like to run the spark plugs backwards two or three turns so that I don't cross thread...

Speed Handles --- What They Good For?

I put one in the portable box today. Just for fun, I am going to try to use it instead of the electric impact driver for a few days.

First Experience with Vim Tools Ends in Dissappointment

I did three sets last week. Socket, 3" extension, breaker bar. No sweat.

That sounds like something was amiss. I work on a bunch of the 3.6s and they scoot.

He is correct in that it is a flat-rate tool. You can remove the caliper bolt with a chrome socket and short extension.

First Experience with Vim Tools Ends in Dissappointment

I will correct myself. Did an Outback with the turbo today and it took 42 minutes. But, I dropped a coil bolt and had to go digging for it.

Speed Handles --- What They Good For?

Oh, totally forgot: I used one a couple of weeks back on a valve cover job after undoing the fuel line. I didn't want to use the electric ratchet around fuel vapor. On a related note, that reminds me of the time I was cleaning a drill with brake cleaner and accidentally popped the trigger...

Speed Handles --- What They Good For?

I recently got a 3/8 Snap On as part of an auction for another thing I actually wanted. Now I want a matching 1/4.

What is new Snap-On GF80 Industrial Finish?

I did a rust-blue process on some tools recently that turned out great. It uses stuff that is already in your kitchen - google for recipes, but as I recall it was vinegar, salt, and a little soda.

Can we completely replace our combo wrenches with ratcheting ones yet?

Dude, from a style standpoint combination wrenches are THE symbol of a mechanic. I think you have to keep them.

    (re-)Discovering T-handles

I got the new Icon bit set, where the ratchet and extension can be assembled into a t-handle. I used it around the house for some projects and love it. So, I ordered a 1/4" sliding t-handle to try for a bit with extensions and bit holders before getting a fixed-T type driver.

Help me find a 3/8 spinner handle

Is the fit tight enough so that you can get enough torque on it without the handle spinning? It seems like most of the spinner types have wings or a knurled section inside the handle.

Crosstrek plugs should take about 35 minutes, no big deal. Wobble socket on a wobble extension.

I am going broke buying duplicates of tools

Depending on the size of the job, I have a couple of metal trays or a 3x5 foot drop-cloth that go to the job. Tools and parts go onto the tray in an organized manner. At the end of the job they go back where they live.
