    Angled blade on my port-a-band

I picked up a new blade a couple weeks back. I will change it out and let you know!

    Drill Press Stall

I was not drilling a pilot hole; I will check on the RPM I was using and also check to make sure the belt is fully seated. It started to stall when I broke through the first hole trying to get to the second. After that I moved on to drilling a 3/8" hole in some angle and it would stall while...

    Show us your welding projects

Nothing spectacular but I picked up a Millermatic 180 for christmas and built my welding table a couple weeks ago. The caster set up did not come out as planned and is temporary and I didn't get a finished shot with the top on but it is 3/8" steel. Other than that the table is very sturdy and...

    Drill Press Stall

What causes drill press stall? I picked up a 12 speed press this past summer for a great deal at a yard sale. I don't recall the brand but it seems to be well built. I did my first larger project with it a couple weeks ago; drilling 1/2" holes in some 1/8" wall steel tube. I got through one...

    Angled blade on my port-a-band

I have a used Milwaukee *********** saw that I picked up off of CL a few months back. I also purchased a swag offroad kit for it to use it as a upright band saw. When I purchased the saw I checked to make sure it was running and it does run well and is in fine condition though a little beat up...

    Project: Garage-O Rest-O

I agree 100%. Now that I have the welder I have the ability to build a proper railing in that area I will probably lose the black pipe and apply it somewhere else, maybe a tire rack or something. I am thinking a simple vertical rail with flat bar on top would be good I don't have a torch or I...

Unsure of what I need: Welder

Yeah I have to agree its all going to be about size of equipment and speed of production. If you are making something small and only a few a week then TIG all the way. If it larger with longer beads and you need 10 a week then go MIG all day everyday.

    Project: Garage-O Rest-O

So finally an update for this garage! I got the over the door storage done with a slick chain setup that I came up with. It was a ***** to get mounted up by myself but through some questionable decisions and clever use of a ladder I managed. I also put the welder through it's first workout...

    Reorganization, it's like a renovation.

~ Girl I have a question so bare with me on this one but I am looking into the same wiring idea for my garage. Did you tap off of the ceiling plug to run the new system along the wall of the garage or did you have to run a dedicated new line to the ceiling plug? I ask because I have one...

Thats extruded t slot aluminum. Many people make it but you can buy it at McMaster Carr. Search 80/20. I think they are biggest company but I am partial to Maytec because they have killer free design software.

    Project: Garage-O Rest-O

The ladder is a collapsible Werner that I picked up at HD a couple years ago. Still the best $120 I have ever spent. For the bandsaw do some searching on CL for a used "***********" dewalt or milwaukee and then head over to swagoffroad.com and pick up one of his bench vise kits. Sent from a...

Just curious; are there any magazines that cover metal working or maybe garage hobby other than woodwork? Sent from a rotary encoder using my finger

    Building/Fab ideas

If you are into cars or trucks I would decide what your killer ride would be and build the chassis for it. I have always wanted to do it and if you have 100 hours and decent skills its something you could pull off. Examples would be a full tube frame rock crawler or a box and tube framed...
