Hex Keys - The Whole Story

I use the MAC Tools branded version of these hex keys, and I find them very aggressive in terms of fitment. The fitment is too good and I imagine they leave some damage to fasteners with repetitive use. I've put these away and now only use them on troublesome fasteners. If the Hex-Plus keys fail...

New set of Allen Keys needed

In an industrial setting with machine tools, jigs, stages, panels..I use the ball end all the time. Now, with Eight hex keys and their ball end, it is a game changer. It's very, very use-able even when tightening.

    Battle of the Bit Ratchets

Or you can go to a German supply shop, like I did, and pay the same price as online. Buy local. Not getting political, but I'm not contributing to anyone's yacht fund.

    Battle of the Bit Ratchets

There is minimal wobble. When compared to a Icon bit ratchet, way less wobble.

    Battle of the Bit Ratchets

I just came back from Germany and brought this little guy back with me. Yes you can order it online here in the US, but I'll avoid helping any billionaires if I can. 120Nm is insane. The blue tpu eject disk feels durable. The selector switch is in fact metal.

    3-D printed Businsess cards?

We still use business cards in my industry, Additive Manufacturing. Though not in a networking sort of way. We use them for laser alignment and tests. Everyone understands what will happen to their business cards in the end.

    New Toptul seller?

Not that I like promoting a billionaire's site, but it looks like they also sell on Uncle Bezo's site as well. Not the inventory like on the main webpage but at least the seller's name is elsewhere.

Hex Keys - The Whole Story

I've been waiting to get these keys in so that I can finally post in one of my favorite threads. I will be putting these to work soon, but wanted to see if I can first fit them in my toolbox. First impressions are that these are lighter than I had thought. Second is that I really didn't want...

    Makers of dial calipers

Beautiful tools. Not to be an armchair internet pest, but please leave the anvils slightly open when storing them. Your calipers/mics will thank you.

    The Facom Tools Thread.

I really want to use these, but I've never been so hesitant to do so because they're so nice looking. I will rotate my hex key sets every year. But year after year, these just stay in the toolbox waiting their turn. I got these in Belgium back in 2014.

    The Facom Tools Thread.

I have a metric set of Facom (France) hex keys, that have the Hex-Plus design. The individual keys themselves are stamped France and have a beautiful gun blue shiny finish, and not the flat phosphate finish, that the Wera hex keys have. When did Facom use the Wera technology, and why did it end?

Who makes these two torque wrenches?

Two years ago I was at Eurobike in Frankfurt. I asked the rep who made the torque wrenches. They're made in Taiwan by Torque-Tech.

Fish glue may work. But if you work in a high humidity area, it will not bond or set correctly.

    Grip Edge drivers

I have the Facom OGV 1/4 hex bits and the MAC RBRT hex key set that I carry with me for work. They are my bail out tools. I've only ever used them for stripped heads. They are aggressive in terms of fitment. Like the bite is solid and zero play once they are in. Sometimes you have to give a...

    Harry J. Epstein Day 2025

A late post. My fiancée and I are highly appreciative of the artwork. The box is still sitting in the office (unpacked with the tools I need of course). She insists I order more tools from HJE. I couldn't agree more.

    TSA compliant multi tool

I'm echoing everyone elses response to TSA. It varies widely by location and if the TSA goon has a bad day or not. I carried a no blade, cheapy multitool. Like a knock off version of a swiss keychain multitool, for many years. It's even been pulled out on a secondary a couple of times and they...

    Howdy from DRPD!

I know that the tariff issue is ever changing, and it's dynamic in terms of things changing by the week even day. Will this affect the Koken items that you already stock? Do you foresee any items that will not be carried because of the tariffs? I will still support your store no matter what...
