    Bought some Tekton ratcheting wrenches

The 2104. It's been discontinued, so was selling for less than half the cost of the current set at Amazon (I paid $20 for seven wrenches): TEKTON 2104 Ratcheting Combination Wrench Set, Metric, 7-Piece [Older Model] https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002PXDJ4Y/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I'm holding off on...

    Bought some Tekton ratcheting wrenches

After getting frustrated being unable to fit my ratchet into some tight spots I decided it was time to break down and pick up some ratcheting wrenches. I'm a DIY guy who already has more tools than he needs already so I was looking to spend as little as possible. After looking at everything...

Safety 101- Anybody wanting to share their safety tips when using their tools??

Wear the proper gloves for what you're doing. If you don't have the right kind, you won't wear them because they'll get in the way. I really like Superior Glove out of Canada. They offer tons of different types of gloves, they're well made, and they're inexpensive. I mention them every chance I...

Safety 101- Anybody wanting to share their safety tips when using their tools??

Friend of mine hit his thumb so hard that it burst like a cherry tomato and sprayed blood all over the wall. :eyecrazy:

Milwaukee hollow shaft. Klein quality at Taiwan-made prices. Edit: Woah. A set of these jumped from $25 to $40 at Home Despot. Still cheaper than Klein, but that's a big price increase.

    Name a tool you hate

Sounds like someone isn't a Wera fan. :p I'm the opposite. I've started developing what my doc thinks might be arthritis, and I find their grips much easier to handle. Plus, I like the look. I'd buy a Wera steering wheel cover if they made one. :D Tools I hate? I have an unreasonable dislike...

Which screwdriver brands have failed for you?

Thanks for all the comments, I appreciate it. It's a shame I couldn't add more brands to the poll, PB Swiss would have been a good one. I'm guessing Craftsman screwdrivers are the ones people grab when they plan to abuse a screwdriver. :)

Requesting your help on designing a survey

I appreciate the input so far. Since this isn't going to be used for anything other than "huh, that's interesting," I'm not terribly concerned about some of the niggling stuff. For example, we don't need to ask someone why they are satisfied with a screwdriver, as this is intended solely to find...

Requesting your help on designing a survey

I started a poll a couple days ago asking people which brands of screwdrivers they'd had failures with. It got a lot of activity and some interesting results, however the polls on this forum simply aren't sophisticated enough to get any meaningful data. I'm thinking it might be interesting to...

Which screwdriver brands have failed for you?

Absolutely. As I noted, this poll is far from scientific, there simply aren't enough options available to draw any solid conclusions. Maybe I should put together a more comprehensive survey using SurveyMonkey and see what turns up. I'll start a new thread to get ideas.

One thing is certain: I need some Wiha. :)

Which screwdriver brands have failed for you?

It's right there in the first post: "This is specifically about any screwdriver that failed under normal usage, not a screwdriver used as a chisel or dropped off a ladder."

Which screwdriver brands have failed for you?

I'm surprised that Wiha, which I believe is one of the more popular brands, has no failures listed yet.

Which screwdriver brands have failed for you?

Re: Poll: Which screwdriver brands have failed for you? I would think that counts as a failure.

Which screwdriver brands have failed for you?

Just doing an informal survey and was curious to see which brands are failing for people. This is specifically about any screwdriver that failed under normal usage, not a screwdriver used as a chisel or dropped off a ladder. Polls are limited to 10 options, so I tried to pick the most common...

New Klein wire stripper being sold at Home Depot - Looks mean for sure

Actually, a significant number of their products are now made overseas. Some appear to be made specifically for Klein, others are just rebranded products. Here's one example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HYT86ZU/?tag=atomicindus08-20 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004VJY0ZM/?tag=atomicindus08-20...

New Klein wire stripper being sold at Home Depot - Looks mean for sure

I have some Klein stuff and I've been happy with it, but I do an unreasonable amount of research on even the simplest tool before buying. :p The thing that bugs me most about Klein is not that they rebrand Chinese-made tools, but that they frequently price the same tool twice as expensive as an...
