    Precision screwdriver recommendations?

Our maintenance guy at work has a set of Wihas. Tried them out and decided to buy a basic set for myself. Love the quality and will definitely buy more. Light years ahead of the standard crappy jewel sets you find everywhere.

    Making An Axe

Also disappointed that orders are not being taken right now. I want one of these. Heck, I'd like to learn how to make one of my own. I think I can do it. :D

Home depot: 26in Black 5-drawer cabinet

The manager at my local HD looked up the last price and it also came up a $0.01 and he wouldn't just enter a price manually.

Costco Whalen vs. Harbor Freight 44"

I would have no problem using it as a based for a full workbench, but as my main toolbox I'd have to pass. I have the HF one and like the deep full width top drawer. The Whalen doesn't look like it can hold deep sockets standing up. I may consider it for my future workbench build.

    Between 265 & 485 SQ/FT The 12-Gauge Garage

Re: A great place to get bad news... Yeah, that would be bad news if it came apart at Big Willow. Ever try going through T8 pinned on a sportbike?

    Receiver Hitch Storage

I used to store mine under my back seat. Then one day I was being tailed by some douche in a nice black Mercedes and decided to just leave it in the receiver, just in case it needs to go through someones radiator.

Home depot: 26in Black 5-drawer cabinet

There was no convincing the guy. He obviously wasn't able to think for himself and make a decision so I walked and left the boxes sitting at the checkout.

Home depot: 26in Black 5-drawer cabinet

I found two at my local HD looking up on the top shelves. Got two of them down, they rang up for $0.01 and the guy had to call three people over to look at it. Finally one guy told me they were to be sent back and he couldn't sell them. I told him he was full of **** and mentioned that they...

    Our Tap Storage

I would mill them deeper then a slot across with a regular end mill. I have been planning on doing this for a while but also include drills.

    You would not believe

The only way to get into my garage in my house is through the big door. I have no access from inside the house, it's the most annoying effin thing about it. No real room to knock out a place for a door, either.

AARgh! I accidently tapped M8 out to M9; can't find replacement bolts!

I did something similar and tapped a hole to M10 when I actually needed an M8 hole. Since it was the same thread pitch, I just stuck a helicoil into the M10 threaded hole. Fit perfect and is now stronger than it would have been otherwise. Maybe give it a try.

    Adjustable wrenches? why

Try working with hydraulics and then ask that question. I use adjustable wrenched all the time on fittings and tubing connections, it's just easier.

    ENCO 115pc drill index

I have a similar set, many of them are wobbly and ****. I often have to go a size or two down so the hole doesn't come out oversized. Gradually replacing with quality bits.

    Calibrate tire gauges

Order a regular liquid-filled pressure gauge from McMaster. Cheap and you can set it up however you want.

Rubber Air Hoses - Manufacturer's POV

I think I would go for both the EPDM hoses and the NBR hoses and maybe taylor their usage for each particular job. My problem with some of the statements about chemical resistance may need clarification. All of those materials are chemical resistant in their own right but often they one...

    Retractable Power Cords

I have an equivalent to the Bayco SL-800. Works and retracts very well and is very convenient. Problem I have is that it doesn't hold the plugs very securely and find myself having to lug a power tool back in after it gets pulled out at least five times every job. I have even bent the prongs...

OTC 7431 adjustable wrench vs. metric nuts?

Wow, and I thought I was just being a smartass when I'd use the term "metric adjustable wrench".

Retrofitting photoelectric sensors on garage opener?

With some clever use of relays you can indeed get the eyes to work as a stop by disconnecting power. However, the logic to make the opener reverse direction won't be as trivial.
