After my recent rewiring experience where I couldn't find my wire strippers I decided to purchase the Knipex 13 72 8 US-style forged wire strippers. At the same time picked up a few more odds and ends including the Cobra soft grip covers, the 78 23 125 electronic snips with the 60° head, and a...

Picked up some random Wera tools on clearance. The Wera Belt 2 1/4" drive metric hex bit sockets. And three torx screwdrivers: T25, T20, and T6. No need for the screwdrivers, but in true GJ fashion, they were too good to pass up!

I've been getting these from a local distributor here in the Middle East. https://khusheimstore.com/en I check their price, including the discounts, and compare that with Zoro (including 20% off) and go with whatever's the best value. The dates on the boxes were 2015-3017, so the distributor...

Picked up some Proto socket sets. The boxes are pretty chewed up but the chrome is good. First up, the Proto J47202 1/4" drive metric 6-point deep socket set (4mm to 14mm). Interesting that the 14mm is 12-point... Will have to get that rectified.

Switched to combo driver for electrical screws. Wish I'd done this years ago.

Shout out to the OP! I purchased the Ideal Combo Head screwdriver back in February because of this post and had a reason to use it today! Was using a Philips screwdriver on the housing screws for my BS1663 plugs when I remembered that I had purchased the Ideal screwdriver. Made things so much...

    Favorite ultrasonic solution (chemical)?

I had a small Bransonic cleaner (loss unrelated to the story below). Buddy of mine who was way into vintage carbs used it with unleaded gas, outside of course. 😬 I'm 100% saying DO NOT do this, but man, he sure raved about how well it worked! 😂

The biggest question when buying those is which color piping on the case. Gotta love when that's the biggest decision... I've got to figure out what other tweezers are out there given the numbers printed on the handles.

Do you have to have a reason to purchase tools? 😂 I had some other over the years and they come in real handy for splinter removal, precision work on my kids toys, and fishing out small items from cracks and crevices around the house. I just can't imagine the Knipex are worth that much more...
