Is there a certain tool you use everyday for your job?

Mine slit the tip of my right ring finger wide open Monday morning. I think it might be time to part ways. It works great for all kinds of extra things though from tightening loose slotted screws to opening cell phone cases.

    Recommendation on router table

Here's what I used to build my shaker kitchen cabinet doors (not that actual bit). Nothing fancy is needed. It just takes a little more time to get the height just right if you don't have a lift. If you need a fence put a screw on one side of a straight piece so it can sweep across the table...

Are these pliers useful or useless?

I've got a cheap set from HF. As mentioned they're great for pulling hoses, spark plug wires, and some electrical connections if you're really, really careful. Also great for removing and installing large horseshoe shaped C clips like on axle bearings.

My cart is from 2010 and has none of the above problems. I used it in a factory setting for a year with a heavy toolbox on top and it performed great moving from spot to spot.

    Harbor Freight 20% coupon?

Every few weeks I get an e-mail from HF saying something like "We missed you here's a 20% off coupon" There is never a coupon. What's up with that? It makes me annoyed at HF not more likely to shop there.

    Mid Tier tool brand

Tekton, Capri, Carlyle, with a little GearWrench thrown in. Some GW is solid and some is junk---usually Taiwan is good and China made is ****. That being said I've got a cheap Chinese Huskey socket set from 2009 that has seen a lot of use and has done quite well.

Which 1/4” impact bits are you all using?

I worked in a factory for a while where I would sometimes drive about a thousand #2 self drilling philips screws a day with an air impact. The bits I was given were simply marked APEX. They would last for 10s of thousands of screws with very little wear. They would just one day shatter. Darn...

    Repairing steel fence without welding?

That was my first thought as well. I think me means drill holes from the sidewalk side completely through the tubing. The carriage bolt head would be on the sidewalk and the nuts would be in his yard. The plate would be on the outside of the fence and not between the gate and post. A Dremel...

    Repairing steel fence without welding?

They would just give you more threads to engage with in the relatively thin tubing. 10-24 would probably be fine and easier to find in a self tapping screw. 3/8 bolts and nuts just seemed excessive to me. I've been guilty of using a smaller self drilling screw to make the pilot hole and then...

    Repairing steel fence without welding?

I'm not a metal worker, but I'd use a larger plate and use 1/4 28 screws straight into the tubing with thread locker. That looks pretty standard though, so first look for a typical striker plate.

How far down are pipes in a foundation?

Will you have to take it back up when you do the next room? I'd warm it with a heat gun, add a few spots of hot melt glue, and quickly stick it down. That way when you need to remove it you can smack it with a hammer to free it and then reuse it.

I believe that is a legal thing where the vender has agreed with the manufacturer to not advertise it below a certain price.

What are good spare bolts nuts washers to keep for car work?

That's some solid advice above, but keep in mind that his "set screw" is different from the American idea. He means a fully threaded bolt instead of one that is only threaded at the end with a smooth shaft afterwards.
