a question for those that prefer flex head ratchets.

I think I'm the same? I have a few cheap, a few average, and a few high end ratchets and I have been just leaving the sockets on them. So if I need a 12mm I grab it and go. Need a 10mm? It's on my snap on orange hard 1/4, 14mm etc. It already attached. Saves time sometimes.

How big does your wrench set go to?

If i were to buy several or a set of jumbo 24mm+ wrenches I would definitely buy some cheap imports from Taiwan.

    Knipex German Forging quality aesthetics

As long as the metals finish is consistent and uniform then it's supposed to be like that. I think it looks better in the first pictures with the contrast.

a question for those that prefer flex head ratchets.

I sometimes don't use my flex when I have a bolt or two that is very easy and I would rather grab a standard ratchet that is shorter and lighter weight allowing a shorter throw and quicker job completion. Flex is nice because you can be more accurate with it I think. Such as a oil pan drain...

a question for those that prefer flex head ratchets.

Matco has my favorite locking flex design. And grip. The time where reaching for a flex dont work is when you need a shorter ratchet. Flex heads are always longer by default than normal ratchets. Unless you buy a short flex.

How big does your wrench set go to?

I'd guess for something as large as 60 mm you would have a 1/2 or 3/4 impact gun by your side. But nothing beats a wrench in terms of access in tight small places. That's where a wrench can be the best and or only tool for the job.

How big does your wrench set go to?

Do you have all sizes up to 2.5"? That is impressive Yeah I think up to 22 mm - 24 mm is acceptable. Things that are larger than that can use a socket with a ratchet or impact gun. Buying big wrenches individually would be nice but it's not cost effective because they get pretty expensive...

How big does your wrench set go to?

That's good to know thanks. I work on motorcycles a lot too but have been using a socket and ratchet for the big bolts that are 19mm + It would be nice to eventually fill my collection of larger wrench sizes so I can use a wrench instead. on motorcycles I actually prefer to use a ratcheting...

How big does your wrench set go to?

It seems like 10 -19mm is the most common set but I think if I were to buy another set I would try to get a larger complete set. Wright has a 7-24 mm set that looks great and covers a lot of sizes. But how often do you use your larger wrenches? Which ones and on what?

    jh williams screwdrivers

Not all #2 screwheads are the same too, lots of variation. I think grinding the points down on all phillips drivers is not a bad idea though.

I need a 12 point wrench set. Advice?

If you CAN NOT round a bolt off then getting a design with a flank drive open end is important. There is a video on youtube showing how easy open ends slip on the bolt. Then they switched to a WrightGrip wrench and it broke the bolt before it stripped / rounded / spread.

    Reasonable 3/8" ratchets

Theres really only 2 ratchets that are my favorite and the only ones I use now. Matco soft grip 88 tooth. I like the handle very much, it makes it a little longer than standard for better leverage. The soft grip is nice if you have oil on your hands etc. Its also a very compact soft grip which...

    Gear Wrench Sockets

I think and other people have said that they are tapered too much. GW says its to guide the socket on the bolt easier. But its tapered too much than needed. It seems like it would reduce surface contact by .25 - .5 mm or less. It could make the difference between it rounding or popping off the bolt.
