    Looking at an induction heater

It showed up today. There is nothing "Mini" about it. Its rather huge, i'm not sure if the pivot function will be useful or not. I believe it came with 8 coils, no idea on the quality or durability of them yet. Finish on insulation is more "sticky or tacky" than domestic parts I've used. I...

    Looking at an induction heater

It might get warm? A soldering gun is not an inductive heater. It is an electrical resistance heater, like a baseboard heater or electric burner element...

    Looking at an induction heater

Have used several different varieties at work. The Mini Ductor Venom HP is possibly my favorite, although all the hand-held ones seem to work pretty similarly. Size/access can be an issue. With that being said, last week I ordered this unit at the lowest price I could find on the zon for...

US General 56" toolbox weight? - UPDATE - IT'S HOME

A trailer with a good heavy duty ramp is probably easiest. Packaging and moving off pallet will take some time. I had HF forklift load the works (packaged 56") into my pickup bed. I drove it home, tossed straps around it + through the pallet, and lifted it out of bed with 2-post lift.

Possible to Grease Sealed U Joint?

50-400k. Varies a lot by application and environment. Usually fail from drying out or water intrusion. My Chevy Tahoe still has 2 out of 4 original u-joints at 300k (injection molded retainers)

    Costco Feit shop lights

Dang I suppose I'll be making a Costco run also. I started stringing these along the wall in my shop. I've purchased quite a few over the years, no failures. I typically forgo all the hardware, drill a couple holes and flush mount these.

    Amazon Warehouse Deals

Shows 2 available for me ("Used like new with $50+ off). Playing games with inventory/availability I guess?? I decided to pass for now but deal is not dead...

SUPER Thin Wall 14mm Spark Plug Socket Needed - Anyone with a lathe? Will pay!

I have one, 12 pt with short pin extension. Cannot remember brand off hand, not Porsche, want to say Taiwanese. Purchased off MAC truck years ago, initially for 12pt 14mm BMW. I had ground down OD slightly. Will have to measure outer diameter for shits and giggles. Glad you got it figured out.

    Contamination-Oil in 20 volt battery

I've done this many times, unfortunately, with zero long term issues thus far. (batteries and tools) I do use electric contact cleaner liberally, followed by compressed air. Let it sit to allow evaporation. Plastics may become discolored, depending on what cleaner used.

    Menards 5" diamond cup wheels

I actually picked one up last week and used it today to grind down some dried self-leveling compound in my kitchen. I kinda made a mess of it and ended up with some high spots. This double row wheel seems to cut very well. Have not used on actual concrete yet but seems well worth the price.

    Vise vices--OCD in the shop

I guess I normally do close the main one I have at home and typically handles always go vertical. Less chance of catching stuff walking by. Often leave them with something clamped in it.

OSB or Drywall on shop walls...

Also in OSB camp. My shop now is steel and hanging stuff is not convenient. I also put drywall on ceiling of my previous garage, did walls all OSB. Never regretted drywall on ceiling, never finished or painted it. With good lighting it is well lit. Painting OSB would make it look better...

Is there a certain tool you use everyday for your job?

Streamlight Strion Flashlight. (the shorter one with button on end) Have had it for years. Snap-On, at one point, came out with a lifetime warranty flashlight. This replaced that POS when they discontinued it. The fat flashlight usually lives in one of my pockets all day.

    Ebay or Auction Deals Permathread!

I agree 100% with the previously posed 205pc kit reviews, after a quick peek. It's worth $50 to me, quality looks below Gearwrench. *The Master Mechanic hose real is an awesome deal IMO guys* I received the other day, put in use tonight. It's nearly identical to much more expensive NAPA...

    Ebay or Auction Deals Permathread!

I also ordered a set to throw in a vehicle. Seems kinda hard to go wrong for price unless this stuff is really junky. Also shipped quick, expected delivery Tuesday. Ordered an air hose reel too. Will try to report back on the quality of said hose and reel.

Amazon Deals on New Retail Items - Post them!

I went down the Amazon stick welder rabbit hole a bit the other night. There are MANY Chinese DC units similar to the posted cheapy available in the $50-60+ range. I think one is definitely worth it if you can use one on a budget. I have a MIG and decided to hold out for a stick with tig...

Amazon Deals on New Retail Items - Post them!

Looks like "the zon" just upped the price. I was considering one just to play with or have as a spare. A welder on YouTube reviewed, claimed underpowered. Really, its still cheap at $60

Roots in main line, hydro-jet vs snake? Wire rope vs spring?

I've been down this road a time or two. I had the best luck with a Roto-Rooter guy and a big machine with auger. I tried to DIY myself years ago with limited success. I highly recommend Roebic Foaming Root Killer treatment regularly after you get it cleared. I flush it 2x a year in my...

    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

I appreciate the reply. However, just tried to buy a digital 1/2 torque wrench, rang up for full price. Cashier thought it should be discounted and inquired...ultimately I was denied any discount.
