Ok, been debating about insulation options here. Spray on is going to run over $2k easy. I could go with the Reflectix. At around $130 per 4'x100' roll, I can get 3 rolls and do the 3 main walls and the front wall. Then also buy more for the ceiling. Then put some walls up...Hmm....

Also, I'm going to put the air compressor on the outside, back corner. I'm thinking about using the setup in this link, along with a mounting block. Any thoughts?

Ok, ran the electrical wiring and hung the boxes. Next will be the PITA part of hooking the wiring up to each outlet (PITA because I'm using quad outlets, so that 6" jumper is a pain) and hooking everything up to the relay box. No power to the garage yet, so this is all just getting everything...

This is the light that I was referring to. The best thing about it is the ability to link multiple lights together.

    Carp's Backyard Shop Build

Re: Carp's Backyard 30'x30' Shop Build Another question if you don't mind me asking: how much did the reflectix cost you in total? Are you doing the walls? I'm debating spray insulation Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And some more...just a note: I requested the garage doors be set to the stage right because I will have wood working tools to the left (as a person stands in the garage and faces out) and I wanted to be able to pull vehicles in without having to move those wood working tools each time. I went...

They finished the garage, despite the fact that it rained heavily all day yesterday. I've got more pics of the construction that I'm attaching. I will be working on it after work today and all weekend :) Pics will be taken as I seal the frame to the concrete and place the flooring in. I had...

    Carp's Backyard Shop Build

Hey Carp, I thought I read that you're supposed to have about a 1" gap between the reflectix and the wall/roof. Is that right?

    Carp's Backyard Shop Build

Re: Carp's Backyard 30'x30' Shop Build Will do. Hey Carp, I'm interested to see what you're going to do for walling. Since most boards are 4x8, it's gonna be tricky. Who did your build? Jimmy Go Gators!

Great pics, thank you! Mine is also vertical...they made my studs 5ft apart though, not the standard 4ft, so I'll have to do some modifications. Unfortunately, they can't install the insulation for me. They're on a tight schedule and they're already behind cause of the heavy rains :(. Check my...

One thing that will be a challenge is wall board size. This garage was built with 5ft spacing between studs and I'm pretty sure the wall board standard is 4 feet.
