    Above 1200 Sq/FT 86's 20HP shop

San Antonio is in the drier part of the state, unlike east Texas, which is hot and humid, too. The dry heat is a tad bit more tolerable.

    DIY/Wood Car Stands(Cribbing)...Let's see them!

I think you could park a bulldozer on a set of those.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT 86's 20HP shop

At the end of last summer, we decided we were done with the heat here and planned to move to northern Virginia. Now that "winter" is here, we decided to remain here. At least for now. We don't mind the intensity of the summer, it's the duration that wears us out.

Gotcha. Check out FBMP while you're there; I always see good deals in that area.

    Build Thread - 69 Bronco

Cluster gear is together. That was fairly simple and didn't require a press. Input and counter gear are loaded with needle bearings - 25 on each side for the cluster gear and 15 for the input. Seal is installed in bearing retainer. O-rings installed on shift arms.

Synchros and gears are actually nice. I’m replacing the synchros but I think it would have been fine if I reused the original ones.

Working the 3 speed RAT transmission and it's been fun. The Bronco trans is slightly different than the passenger car trans, there are no YouTube videos of a Bronco trans rebuild, and the Shop Manual is not a model of clarity. But I got it apart. I disassembled the cluster gear after I took...

Automotive Magnet Pick Up Tools - Need Something Small

I do have one of these, but I didn't try it because I didn't think it would be powerful enough. The detent is small and light, but it has a relatively tight fit in the hole. Thanks

Automotive Magnet Pick Up Tools - Need Something Small

I tried a pick with magnets placed on the shank, but it was too weak to pull up the detent.

Automotive Magnet Pick Up Tools - Need Something Small

I bought a 3mm Geodore and 5mm Stahlwille for the shop and a pair of cheap ones from Amazon for the home garage. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DJKLSLNL?tag=atomicindus08-20 Thanks for all the input.

Automotive Magnet Pick Up Tools - Need Something Small

I was disassembling a transmission today and had to fish out a few detents out of small holes in the trans and the smallest magnet pickup tool I have was too big (.37" in diameter) so I ended up using the shop vac to **** the detent out. I see some stuff on Amazon that's .25" in diameter, but...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished up rebuilding a close ratio T10 trans for my '72 AMC Javelin budget road racer. I built a backup trans a few weeks ago; this will be the primary. And since I had all my snap ring pliers out, I figured I might as well rebuild the 3.03 3 speed trans for my '69 Bronco project. Got it...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

Anyone here 3D print stuff for a fee? Or recommend someone to do it? I also have a 3D printer but my 12 y/o daughter is the only one who uses it. I guess I could see if she could figure out how to print this stuff. Here's what I need; it's a fixture for rebuilding a Hurst Competition Plus...
