    Duty Cycle????

That has more to do with tank size or air reserve. But cfm is how fast the tank fills back up. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

    Duty Cycle????

A 100% duty cycle piece of equipment will be built of higher grade and better components. This will usually come at higher price. If you only forsee yourself using a piece of equipment occasionally a lower duty cycle might suffice. I run a body shop at my house and have a 100% duty cycle 7 hp...

    Compressor suggestion/question (Husky/Kobalt)

One thing to consider is that most all air tools are only rated at 90 psi. You don't need a compressor that supplies for than 110-120 psi. What you do want is as much cfm (air volume) you can get. Psi doesn't run air tools cfm does. I would much rather have a compressor that has 12 cfm at 90 psi...

    Psi and hose size question

I run my body shop and always have with 3/8 air hose with standard 1/4 pipe thread air couplers. However the 1/4 pipe thread on the end of the hose is not 1/4 inside diameter. The hole might be 1/4 on the ****** part of the connector. I've ever had an issue of psi loss. They have high flow...

Welding in attached garage - safety tips / tools...?

At the body shop I worked at, it was a general shop rule that no one welds on a car after 4. This allows time to catch one that will smolder. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Torch not working correctly upside down

In my experience, when a propane touch is turned upside down you are drawing liquid instead of gas out of the torch. It will then flame up. I had a 20 lb cylinder with a extension hose to my touch head. With this setup I could turn it anyway I wanted because the tank never turns upside down to...

    electric ro vs air da

I have a very small orbit finish air sander and a large orbit roughing sander. So you can get what you want. Just remember most air tools are only rated for 90psi. So 150-175 is no good for most. What is the cfm at 90psi? That is the biggest question. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Looking for a compact, higher capacity air compressor

My 60 gallon vertical is outside. My concerns were I didn't want it taking up shop space and I didn't want it sucking in paint fumes into the compressor. It is covered over head and from the weather side and has happily been running for probably 10 years. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Looking for a compact, higher capacity air compressor

That's going to be a tough order. With tank size comes cfm. I run a one man body shop and my compressor is a 60 gallon two cylinder and outputs around 12 cfm at 90 psi. It runs anything I have. So I'm my opinion, that list of wants doesn't exist in a regular piston compressor. I may be wrong...

Price check on a craftsman table saw

I agree. The saw was free to me from my dad a long time ago. So it was worth the upgrades at the time, and still is I guess. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Price check on a craftsman table saw

I have a craftsman table saw from the 80's. It was my dad's and was given to me 15 years ago. It's a cast iron contractor saw with a mobile base and an upgraded delta fence system (biesemeyer style). Cuts great and is quiet with the link belt v belt. But It takes up a lot of room. I've just...

Stanley Black & Decker buys Craftsman

Stanley made hand tools for craftsman for a long time. Sears makes none of their own stuff. It's all subbed out. I got a several tools over the years that had a sears part number but had Stanley on the handle. I returned it to the store for one that had craftsman so not to mess with the...
