Had a bit of a drive out disguised as dropping some ebay parcels off at the post office.

Pottering around the woods. I've never seen so many Painted lady butterflies in one place. There must have been nearly a hundred flying around. A lot of large dragon flies too plus loads of tiny baby ones, though they were too fast to photo.

This is our local garage. Pumps for diesel and unleaded with one for kerosene i assume in the corner with a hose for tyres on the fence to the right. Most garages don't have the kerosene pump, though some rural ones will have a red diesel pump (for agricultural use off road only). Theres...

Got the trio of tiny ickle fuel pumps made. I might make another couple of diesel ones and put them off to one side for trucks. Made a strip of paving with mounts for the price totem. I wonder how long it took for the VW T2 owner to realise the filler was on the other side of his van? :unsure...

Fuel price on the totem is from 1988. When i got my first car in 1994 when i was at college i was paying 50p a litre ($1.89 US gallon). It used to cost me just over £15 to fill the tank. Its now £1.579 (just under $6 a US gallon). :(

Nearly finished the Metcalfe service station. Just a few little details still to add. The wall and roof cappings, the stairs up to the parts department and the pumps and canopy.

Not as warm this morning. We had thunderstorms from 3pm yesterday all the way until dark. Cleared the muggy air nicely but annoying as it kept tripping the electricity.

Stuck a mk1 golf gti and a T2 panel van in the showroom to check for size. Made a start on the workshop area at the rear and the parts store above.

Made a start on the Metcalfe service station i got given for my birthday. Decided to modify it a little adding a partially closed roller shutter door. I'm going to build it as a what if Cartune (a UK VW tuning firm) that closed in the 1970s had continued into the late 1980s/early 1990s.

Warm morning again, though there was a bit of a breeze up in the quarry. Nice place for a paddle though.

Cooling off.

It was 22c (71.6f) before 8am this morning. Luckily theres a fair bit of shade on the tracks through the woods.

Although not to everyone's taste, I like the cheap steering wheel cover off Temu. I sewed it together as it kept slipping off.

Hot morning for a change. 20c (68f) at 9am, 23c (73f) at 10:30am. Dogs didn't appreciate the heat, though atleast theres water to paddle in and drink.

Finished the scalescenes island platform building.

Temperature only really started to rise at around 3 this afternoon. It was a bit chilly this morning. Had an unusual visitor to the bird feeder today.

Wow, it only got to 16c yesterday afternoon here. Today has started off with mist but i'm assured it will burn off later on.
