Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?

Great idea, thank you. Doing that today! Discretion is the better part of valor. Nice save!

Strictly street, now. Unfortunately, the arthritis in my knees makes it difficult some days.

Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?

Back in the early 80s I was riding my motocross bike in a local sand/rock pit. Some people came by, and I started showing off. It was a hot day, so I stopped and had a beer. 1 beer. Just enough to take the edge off my common sense. I was doing diagonal downhill jumps off a small (10 -15')...

    Grandpa's drill bits!

That is AWESOME! Very nice! The old window frame is a nice touch.

I found the brace. Need to clean it up a hair...

No kids here, well, except for me! :D Still, it's great info to have, and I appreciate you sharing it. I guess that depends upon what copper pipe you use, and what is available. BTW, I understand that 50/50 solder is only good up to 150 PSI. You need to use 95/5 for higher pressure...

    Reducing Compressor Noise

😲 Holy moly! 😲 Did you purchase it that way, or did you damage the pulley? Had my compressor vibrated that badly, new, I would have returned it for a replacement. While all mass-produced pulleys could probably benefit from some minor balancing, I would venture a guess that there are very few...

    Reducing Compressor Noise

Yep, that was me. I had planned to put it outside in a shed. Now I'm glad that I did not go through that extra effort and expense!

When I was purchasing my supplies, these were all that Lowes had in stock, so that is what I ended up with. I think that it goes without saying that the waste valve should point down when installed!

    Reducing Compressor Noise

Done? What's "done"? All I have done so far is to isolate the compressor from the concrete floor and extend the intake above ear level. I like to tinker, so I will probably never be "done", but for now, extending the intake seems to have been a big help. Wait for the db readings when I...

@tfb - I had never thought about that. For an air line, and a drip leg, wouldn't draining the leg before closing the valve prevent this from occurring? I can't think of a scenario where I would close it while it was filled with water in this situation, but it's both interesting and useful...

I will likely just flip the valve by the compressor each night. Copper may have the best heat transfer, but there is more room for error when sweating fittings that could result in failures. It's also quite expensive. My line is tilted forward toward the down leg which terminates in a drain...

    Reducing Compressor Noise

I will be making that change to run the tubing AFTER the filter, so I will test it before I reconnect the hose as well as afterwards. However, it may be several days before I get to it. I have to wire in 5 more outlets, air seal the walls and ceiling, and possibly insulate the attic and the...

    Reducing Compressor Noise

So, I took my phone (Samsung S9+) out of it's case and decided to do a DB test. Here are the results. (Note, it's a windy day, so background noise level is higher than normal.) While I may be able to reduce this further, there comes a point of diminishing returns. This is acceptable, in my...

I'm also attempting to add this to my signature. I tried entering the URL in the "add a picture to your signature" section with no luck (It shows "Invalid file), and I tried adding this code with the Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

I consider signatures added entertainment, and, for me, they help to add personality to users. I have only disabled them on one forum I visit, because there is no limit to picture size there, and this results in ridiculously huge signature blocks for some users. I do see your point, however.
