Should I just use regular attic insulation instead of spray foam?

Open cell foam is about the same R-value as the others. Closed cell is twice that and is water/vapor impermeable, which open is not.

1/4" Hex Impact Driver - What automotive repair uses do they have?

I bought my 1/4" impact driver for home remodeling projects after hearing that last "straw that broke the camel's back" person say they shouldn't have waited so long because it was a game changer for that usage. Sure enough, it was. When they started saying the same thing about cordless...

The ony jet problem I can imagine being severe enough to cause this would be the complete lack of one. Have you looked at the gas level in the bowl with the carb top off? Can you make sure the flow stops and the float goes to a reasonable level as you shove the needle closed?

Maybe just hire yourself a part time, in-house hydraulics rebuilder. Seems like you keep them busy anyway.

    Short run pipe heating solution

Some of the short cables show, at least in the advertising, that they can be wrapped. I have a similar situation and just ordered the Wrap-On brand. Of course, with a small diameter pipe, even that may not help enough.

There could be a board game, like Monopoly. Land on one square, buy a 'Burb, land on another - buy two forklifts. On another, help dad buy a junk boat.

Need new track saw - Makita, Milwaukee?

I had the Makita corded. Sent it back because it wouldn't go for more than a few inches in plywood before cutting out, clearly defective. The Dewalt I got to replace it was much nicer quality.

Heavy duty hasp for shed door?

What we used on our shed when it kept being broken into - A length of rebar running across the width, connected to eye-bolts on each side, bolted through the frame. One end of the rebar has a plate welded on, slotted to fit over one eye-bolt, which you will fasten with your lock. The other end...

Tools that you thought were stupid to buy and now can’t live without.

Or the reverse - My wife and I were walking past the tool section in Lowes, where there was a Porter Cable reciprocating saw prominently displayed. My wife said "Don't you need one of those"? At that time I didn't see the need, at least not $90 worth of need. But she kept working on me, and I...

Is there any GOOD way to store long-handled yard tools? (shovels, rakes, etc)

Gladiator track and e-track, with respective hook systems. Weedeaters and other short-medium items are mounted above eye-level on Gladiator, long handled items are hung higher on e-track with the handles hanging between the items on the lower rail.

Is Makita still at the top?

I had a Makita table saw which was decent, but my Makita track saw got returned right after receipt. It would only run intermittantly, and it didn't feel nearly as solid or ergonomic as the Dewalt I replaced it with. I only have one other DeWalt tool, a palm sander, but with these two...

    Moisture Meter???

I bought one identical to the one in the original post to look for water intrusion in the house. It does everything I need, and is easy to interpret for this use-case. I think the directions say less than about 6-7% is normal, and I find that a useful metric. Normal wood or drywall reads less...

Are all the little pancake / hotdog compressors basically the same?

It is easy to find online equivalents for noise levels. Here are the 80-90db equivalents from a noise suppression supplier. Other sources may have examples one would find more relatable. Garbage disposal, dishwasher, average factory, freight train (at 15 meters). Car wash at 20 ft (89 dB)...

Are all the little pancake / hotdog compressors basically the same?

I believe this compressor from Lowes is the same - Kobalt 3 gal hot dog I bought the same one, under the name Fini (a long time compressor manufacturer from Italy), from Menards. It's a good compromise of capacity, weight, noise and price. Considerably quieter than my old 20 gallon, belt...
