Harbor Freight has a 30% off sale this weekend. What clamps are worth buying from them?

They make some deep-throat C Clamps (5", 8", 12") which are pretty unique, but they aren't expensive enough to waste a one-item deal on.

My point exactly, the reason for the post. The culture around here is "Do what you can get away with."

    Recycling ac unit?

What terms do you use to find someone who will do residential capture, if there even is such a niche? I have a system I want to remove as part of a DIY remodeling to make way for a mini-split. I can't find anyone to do it on a small scale, only commercial. I assume your common service guy or...

    Extension cord storage-pro tips

This was the very first thing I was taught when I was stagehanding. Holding one end in your hand pointing away from you, you first try to get the cable spread out away from you as straight as possible. You then coil counterclockwise, giving the cord a half twist each coil. The half twist will...

I was thinking it might be a cause of your mystery skin problems. I'm also guessing it wouldn't be easy to find the right expert. But I found one paper about envenomization and necrotic skin lesions, perhaps there are more. Maybe send some of the pictures you've posted here to some of the...

Have you by chance ever discussed stings and systemic immune/inflammatory response with a mast-cell or envenomization doctor?

    Old people tools

I spent an hour this morning using that exact HF tool to remove tile which has been on my to-do list for a couple of years. I've had the rule for a while now that if I'm going to do the labor, I get to decide how easy it will be, so I bought that tool for this job. And it was so ridiculously...

Fixing up an old Proto Rolling Chest

I'm perfectly content when I can work something from "near junk" to "deserves a spot in the garage". You've certainly done that.

Circular saw. What isn’t cheap consumer grade?

If the preferred solution is still in the realm of buying a new corded saw, you could do worse than looking at Rigid, even if it is a Home Depot brand. I have their 6.5" and it is a seriously nice saw, using Milwaukee, Makita and DeWalt saws I own as reference.

Fixing up an old Proto Rolling Chest

Cam locks would be easy to find (McMaster Carr has a good selection), but yours isn't a cam. I was going to suggest part number M11080a2 (seems to be universal, I see it on Waterloo/Sears) but it is no longer available. But take a look at this thread - It seems to imply that locksmiths are...

Can anyone help me figure out what type of toolbox this is

Remember that Craftsman is a brand. A manufacturer will put in whatever brand touches the buyer wants.

Can anyone help me figure out what type of toolbox this is

Look for a sticker on the inside right side of the top left drawer. Very small, about a half-inch by an inch. I thought maybe the model number was stamped somewhere (top or bottom surface, or back) but of course I can't check with it loaded. The contact info at Waterloo in 2015 was...

Can anyone help me figure out what type of toolbox this is

Those dimensions correspond to mine. In the morning I'll see where my model numbers are, and send you a possible contact at Waterloo.

Can anyone help me figure out what type of toolbox this is

I have a Waterloo identical to that, except that mine has a mini-cabinet with a door in place of the four right-side drawers. Otherwise, the bottom drawer, upper drawer heights, and handle trim are identical. And from what I can see of your handle, it appears to be identical as well. The...

Yes, that will rearrange the playing field and power dynamics substantially. Perhaps even catastrophically, but that potential exists already.
