I really would have been more impressed with that race shop if they spent a bit more time laying it out better, and keeping it better organized and clean...jeeesh.

OK to leave air tools plugged hooked up all the time?

We used to leave all of the tools connected at the assembly plants. Only if there was a special tool or over a long holiday would we remove them, more for theft. As long as they did not leak, no prob.

How to cut 16 gauge type 304 Stainless Steel

I am thinking that if the SS counter top that I have listed in the classified section do not sell, I may just cut off the ends (scrap the part with the hole in it) and use them as fold down benches that I could put a miter saw on as needed or a drill press etc. The question is what would be...

before shovels in dirt: the agony of a permit

I feel your pain...NJ is driving me up the wall...West Orange is making me jump through hoops for our addition. We are not changing the foot print of the house, just adding to the existing second floor over the garage and over the other side. My side yard setback needs to be 15' and 10', I am...

How Do You Organize All Your Aerosol Cans??

How did you mount the "Metro" racks to the wall like that? They are strong when all 4 legs are on the ground as the downward pressure keeps the joints tight, however in the air what keeps them stiff and together?

    To FIX ,or NOT FIX

For me, I know my limitations, but I also value my $$. I learned a long time ago the value of a dollar and will not just throw it away. I also enjoy the satisfaction of fixing something myself. The one that kills me are those that don't replace their own brake pads. It's one of the easiest jobs...

Torque Wrench needed 350ftlbs min and bi-directional

If the bolts are not torqued pretty close to spec, you get an annoying squeak, almost like a bearing. While I would love to use a gun, at $700 a piece for a replacement bolt, and most of the other parts getting hard to find and $$$, I would rather go manual. I did look last night, and found that...

Torque Wrench needed 350ftlbs min and bi-directional

That is the socket that I will be using, however taking the bolt off it not always the issue, can use a breaker bar, but I need the torque wrench to put it on. Did not know there was any updated unit from Ferrari, as keeping it on the bolt is the biggest PITA.

Torque Wrench needed 350ftlbs min and bi-directional

This is for the center single wheel bolt on my early Testarossa. For years I have been using the factory spanner (first picture) with a huge lead hammer. This used to be much easier with the bolts that had 3 ears on it, but with the spanner it is a pretty funny / frustrating process. In...
