Cleaned this one up quick. Needed new spring, split pin, and a shim up top st the back.

Finished cleaning up a beat to hell Record No.6 for a welder to use. Sandblasted it at low pressure, filed down the 4 ways on the center chunk and put copper shims up top, gave it a good heavy coat of paint and some new jaws. Jaws are a little out of alignment still due to one side being pretty...

Looks pretty normal. If they were rewelded there would be lots of surface imperfections, and it would be very noticeable on-top.

Different material, different size stock, different tooling, different operation. Sometimes you have to adjust speed until you feel it cutting just right. That would be fine if you were banging out the same operation over and over e.g. sanding similar items, repeating a cutting operation on...

Why does this give me the same stomach turning feeling that looking at an injured animal does? It's just nature, but it feels so disgusting.
