    Barnes drill co. Lathe

It's definitely a cool piece, and someone could put it to use, but not for a beginner. Changing belts every time to shift gears ***** ***.

    Harbor Freight/Chinese Tool Deception

Can't make tools in the U.S.A. anymore, and sell the individual units for anything less than a fortune. All your workers want top notch wages, pension plans, health plans. All for what? Pressing a button on a punch press? Installing a wrench head and nut onto a body? There is a reason everyone...

How to measure arbor and pilot drill for hole saw

What tools do you buy snap-on?

Buy a good 3/8 and 1/2 ratchet. The rest of the **** on the truck will just be you starting your career in debt. Don't listen to all the elitists who enjoy having a tool mortgage.

    Let's see your toolbox.

I really like the idea of the fold out covers, I'm used to it with my current tool storage! I missed out on a VERY nice Mastercraft Professional 2-piece set that sold for $550 the day before, even had a drawer on the lower box that was meant for your wallet and other personal belongings that had...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Two Beach boxes, $450. Was going to go stateside to replace my 3-piece 27" toolbox from Harbor Freight, but with the dollar the way it is, it wouldn't make sense. Going to combine the top box in the first picture with the bottom box in the second picture. Both boxes are barely used, good...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Close enough. There's 8. 4 Record No.6, found 2 under a welders bench, he said rebuild and send them off to someone else in the shop to be put to use. RIGID 6" swivel mechanics vise, bought for our pipefitters when the 8" Ridge tool co. 81P broke (wish I had the Vise bug back then, I would have...

    Ontario- Devilbiss Compressor

60 Gallon Devilbiss 2-stage compressor with a true 5hp motor, run 120v or 240v. Have a good 15' run of #8 3-wire in liquid tight conduit I can throw in for the price. Ran good when I first bought it, motor went, installed a new one along with a gauge set manifold, then lost motivation to finish...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

The news outlets tell everyone to lift with your legs. It's all a sham. The key is to put it all in your groin and your back, take your legs totally out of the equation. Lift with your lower back in a jerking, twisting motion. I grabbed this old stainless stand from the barn, old display stand...

This is why you always keep a spare $700 in your pocket!

I was going to say nothing special, you can buy just under that for $500 new at home depot... but it has a 7hp motor, 2 stage compressor, auto drain... It is pretty good, but not $4600 new good.

    Less than ideal compressor wiring

Don't see why it wouldn't be. Welders don't need to be hardwired. I have mine on a 50' 12/2 cord with a plug on the end and it's fine on it's 15a breaker.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Saw a nice blacksmith vise and stand and posted it here last week, but ended up missing out on buying it. This morning I purchased this from a fellow in Bobcaygeon. 173lbs, 7 1/4" jaws, 37" from the bottom of the foot to the top of the jaws. Paid just under $1.25/lb! I'm going to make a nice...

    Check out this mill

The trouble is moving it. That machine will need a good forklift to lift it onto whatever heavy duty trailer you've got, then a forklift to unload it unless you plan on taking it apart. Usually a full size turret mill is between 1800-2600lbs, with the base being the bulk of the weight. Hell...
