    Lock on Air chuck question

I happen to be looking for the same exact thing: a locking flow through (no valve core) air chuck for beading tires. I wonder if I can connect one end of a short whip hose to the chuck below, then hook up a female air fitting to the other end, add another male air fitting to the female end...

Electric breaker hammer what to buy?

That's perfect advise. Couple buddies and I actually busted up an old side walk this summer using just sledges. Digging and raising the slab with a steel pole and striking at strategic locations helped tremendously, but it was still back breaking work. We made 30 ft in two hours and couldn't...

Electric breaker hammer what to buy?

Thanks for the replies and feedback. Besides the couple exterior jobs on hand now, I may look into installing French drain in the basement and cutting out a pad for the MaxJax in the garage in the future, thus I was looking more into buying vs renting. Those bobcats look fun but honestly I...

Electric breaker hammer what to buy?

I'm looking to start a couple of projects where I need to tear up old concrete. A side walk of about 50 ft by 3ft section and a parking area around 20x25 ft. I'm not sure on the depth of the concrete, house was built around 1950, guess maybe 4". I work slow, so I was thinking of buying a...

How to retrofit an electronic 2 bulb ballast to an old light that uses single ballast

I guess I will be having some fun, or just rip everything out and go with recessed lights. The room is a hair over 12'x20', are 6x6" pot lights sufficient? Here's the old ballast...

How to retrofit an electronic 2 bulb ballast to an old light that uses single ballast

The fluorescent lights in our basement is powered by separate ballast for each bulb, total of 4 stringed along the wall. I've replaced 2 bulb magnetic ballasts with electric ones before, but the single bulb ballast only has 3 wires coming out of it, with what I'm guessing is black/neutral out...

What's your essential home oil change equipment?

On top of the usual tools for an oil change, I use a large piece of cardboard to slide under the front of the vehicle, quick and easy.

    disconnect fused or non fuse

I would go fused just so you can be positive when disconnecting electricity. You don't want someone flipping on the breaker when you're servicing the unit outside.

Garage door insulation types - which is better???

I have a 14' x 7' overhead door that faces east/southeast, 1/2" rigid foam with reflective backing have cooled the garage by at least 20 degrees. It used to be 100+ on a hot sunny day, now I can work with just a fan.

Goodman condenser does not build head pressure, bad compressor?

The weather got hot again so I motivated myself to get the electric box swapped, now the voltage across L1/L2 and T1/T2 are 207V and the compress and fan both kick on when calling for cool. I checked the voltage at the main panel feeder cables, it's 208V, not 230V. I also put an ammeter to the...

Goodman condenser does not build head pressure, bad compressor?

It's a residential unit, I measured across the two screws of the 40amp breaker in the main panel. I suppose I can measure across the buses the circuit actually stabs into to see what's coming into the house. My main concern is why there's no voltage across L2 and L2 at the contactor. It's...

Goodman condenser does not build head pressure, bad compressor?

Thanks f or all the advise, I took more measurements, and it's looking weirder again. L1 to ground is 120v, L2 to ground also 120v, but L1 to L2 when contactor is energized is 600mV, and with contactor non-energized it's 68v. It looks like the 2 lines coming to the condenser are off the same...

Goodman condenser does not build head pressure, bad compressor?

If someone needed to pump down their system, the service valve should be closed, not the case here. If there's a restriction in the system, that would explain uneven pressure no?

Goodman condenser does not build head pressure, bad compressor?

They are service valves, back seated before disconnect, but cracked open to read the press.

Goodman condenser does not build head pressure, bad compressor?

Armed with my ammeter, I went outside in the 83 degree sun. Surprisingly the compressor now won't start, nor does the fan. The ammeter around the T1/T2 wire showed only 0.7 :shocking: The contacter plunger engages fine when thermostat is turned to cool. This is different from what happened...

Goodman condenser does not build head pressure, bad compressor?

We have a Goodman 3 ton condenser with a Bristol recip compressor going on 15+ years, it has a 1-pole 40amp 240/24vac contactor, and 2 separate capacitors (fan motor and compressor). It has ran low on charge before, usually a recharge will bring it back to life. This time, it won't take any...

OK to run different brand or types of main vs subpanel?

I'm getting an electrician to upgrade my main panel, then I'll pull a subpanel for the garage myself. The electrician wants to put in a cheap Murray main, I'd like to use a square D qo in my garage later. Would this be a problem down the line? Will it be better if he switches to a square D...

    Fall Protection

Thanks for replying. What is the bucket for? And is the harness's rope supposed to anchor to? I was hoping I can find something useful on Zoro's site since they have a sale going on today but I still feel I don't know what to buy.
