Question on Mac Axis/ Proto 90 ratchets

Well thanks for the opinions. My fixed head version hasn't showed up yet so the verdict is still out on it but I think I will stay away from the flex.My Matco versions all lock and I run the dual 80s pretty stiff on the hinge so I don't think I'd want the floppy Mac.

Question on Mac Axis/ Proto 90 ratchets

So I was reading up reviews on the Mac axis ratchets and when they first came out it seemed that some people complained about the flex head models being a little loose and without a way to tighten the tension on the fork bolt. Have they improved that any or for any of you that have them do you...

    New SK Teardrop Ratchets

Maybe they will come out with some different lengths later on. I'd like to see a full line up to compete with the truck brands like a 24" flex head.

Matco has a new flank drive plus style wrench

I suppose it's not surprising that they had to source a new mfg for their wrenches with the Apex Armstrong plant shutting down. However if I wanted a nice set of offshore wrenches I'd take the Carlyle any day over the Matco considering the price. Are they spline drive on the box end?

    Napa selling Proto?

Was searching Napa's online site for some drift punches and noticed some Proto items on there. Never noticed Proto on there before. Think they are going to start offering that as an industrial alternative to the now defunct Armstrong?

    Wilton blue paint color

Well I'm not restoring this vise to original it will be a daily driver. I wasn't set on the stock color but wanted something close. I ended up with titanium silver blue. I am pretty happy with the color but is in no way a match.

    Wilton blue paint color

I'm getting ready to strip down and prep a Wilton 600s for painting. I had read in numerous threads about the Rustoleum hammered blue or verde green being a good match. I can't find any locally so I'd have to order it. However I wonder if anyone has ever compared Pontiac blue metallic engine...

    Wilton 600S questions

And the handle isn't bent much but does have some damage to it. Coming from a farming area the farmers are usually pretty rough on them, at least around here. Sorry for the picture quality, this is what I was sent. You can kind of see where the handle was hit with a hammer a time or two.

    Wilton 600S questions

Yes the swivel base is there. I have a new 1755 I bought on the anniversary sale but sometimes I think the 6" opening may not be enough. I thought it was a little high but it's only 2 miles away so not much trouble involved unlike what some have gone through.

    Wilton 600S questions

So I may be jumping on the big vise bandwagon...a guy I know down the road bartered his way into an old Wilton 600s vise and he's looking to sell. I went and checked it out and we had it apart and greased and back together. Couldnt see any rough housing damage, no welds or cracks. Handle is bent...

They were about $1800 list when I priced the same side box for my Krl722 and they hardly ever show up on the used market.

Who offers polished combination wrenches (Taiwan) above 1-1/2"?

You can get napa carlyle polished wrenches in big sizes however they will be pricey. For reference I just bought a 36mm and was around $50 a wrench. They are nice quality however in comparison to the el cheapo jumbo wrench sets.

How to remove drawer trim on KRL

I knocked mine off a side cab. A few taps with a hammer and a small piece of wood against the end. They weren't tight all the way off. I tightened them up a little by giving them a wack with a plastic tipped hammer.

    Tool box transport

I only prefer to haul toolboxes over 26" wide with a enclosed trailer with a nice ramp. So much easier than loading in a truck bed unless you have access to a lift or loader. I hauled a mammoth macsimizer 60" wide with 2 side cabs on a open gooseneck trailer but even strapped down with many...

    First new SK purchase

I never really had any SK stuff,I do have some SK made craftsman wrenches but that was it. I was looking for a 30" breaker bar. I didn't have many choices and was about to buy a tool truck brand. I didn't even know SK made a 30 inch breaker bar. So I seen them for sale @ HJE and pulled the...

Comfort grip 1/2 drive short breaker bars

I already have a chrome handle 24" breaker bar, and I'm currently looking to add a 30" as well. But there's been times I'd like to have a shorter 15 or 18 inch breaker bar with a comfort grip to use on the backside of a impact gun on tough bolts. In the new Snap on flyer they have what I need...

    Snap On box lock cylinder

Have a couple questions on lock cylinders for Snap On tool boxes. I recently picked up 2 snap on side cabinets for my krl722. One is a older side cab, a 711, and the other is a few years newer and is the current model, the 711a. The older one has the regular key lock and the newer has the...
