Well thanks for the opinions. My fixed head version hasn't showed up yet so the verdict is still out on it but I think I will stay away from the flex.My Matco versions all lock and I run the dual 80s pretty stiff on the hinge so I don't think I'd want the floppy Mac.

Maybe they will come out with some different lengths later on. I'd like to see a full line up to compete with the truck brands like a 24" flex head.

I suppose it's not surprising that they had to source a new mfg for their wrenches with the Apex Armstrong plant shutting down. However if I wanted a nice set of offshore wrenches I'd take the Carlyle any day over the Matco considering the price. Are they spline drive on the box end?

Was searching Napa's online site for some drift punches and noticed some Proto items on there. Never noticed Proto on there before. Think they are going to start offering that as an industrial alternative to the now defunct Armstrong?

Well I'm not restoring this vise to original it will be a daily driver. I wasn't set on the stock color but wanted something close. I ended up with titanium silver blue. I am pretty happy with the color but is in no way a match.

I'm getting ready to strip down and prep a Wilton 600s for painting. I had read in numerous threads about the Rustoleum hammered blue or verde green being a good match. I can't find any locally so I'd have to order it. However I wonder if anyone has ever compared Pontiac blue metallic engine...

And the handle isn't bent much but does have some damage to it. Coming from a farming area the farmers are usually pretty rough on them, at least around here. Sorry for the picture quality, this is what I was sent. You can kind of see where the handle was hit with a hammer a time or two.

They were about $1800 list when I priced the same side box for my Krl722 and they hardly ever show up on the used market.

You can get napa carlyle polished wrenches in big sizes however they will be pricey. For reference I just bought a 36mm and was around $50 a wrench. They are nice quality however in comparison to the el cheapo jumbo wrench sets.

I knocked mine off a side cab. A few taps with a hammer and a small piece of wood against the end. They weren't tight all the way off. I tightened them up a little by giving them a wack with a plastic tipped hammer.
