Thanks. Yes, I made that. I created the design for the resist with my decal cutter. Stainless can be etched, too, though not as deeply.

I'd go one of two routes: Either have the labels cut with a decal cutter- any font/color/shape you desire or Make your own by etching copper or a similar metal (like this)-

If you know someone with a vinyl cutter that can cut decals, you can use that method instead of going the photoresist route- much easier and faster. Here's a label I made in copper a while back using this method (I posted this pic in another thread recently) -

That's exactly how I did it. I ran 2- one for the electric and one for the cable/network wiring. The conduit is hidden in the wall and makes for a clean look.

The tag wouldn't be terribly difficult to duplicate. A proper sized piece of metal could be acid-etched to produce a reasonable copy. Here's a pic of a copper tag I made for a friend. It's about the size of a business card.

This is totally awesome! I built a 6'x8' for my daughter a few years ago, but never quite finished the interior before using it for storage. I keep meaning to get going on it again, but my garage build is taking most of my spare time at the moment. Great job and thanks for the thorough post. :)

If you're planning on having a security system, consider pre-wiring the doors/windows with the proper wire. I ran a spare conduit from my house to the garage. I will be running my CAT6 wire, telephone and cable through this.

I'm having the same issue. I ordered this light from Amazon on Friday- it'll be here tomorrow. I'll mount it above my side door inside the garage so that when I open the door, I'll be able to see the light switch.

Definitely Cat6 for use with an IP camera system. Lots of good info at the IPCamTalk forums for this type of situation. I'm running 4 Hikvision IP cameras into a Network Video Recorder (NVR). I have access to my cameras via a web browser or my iPhone from anywhere.
