    Pump/strategy for heater core flush?

I agree with the garden hose. Flushing in reverse of how coolant would flow in normal use seems to be key to why this works.....but yeah, ya gotta go both directions repeatedly for best results. In the past when I haven't been aggressive enough I've seen heat reappear for a day or so, but...

Reverse drill bits/easy outs. School me.

I just piece together what I need at mscdirect.com You don't need a full index, you could probably jump thru the 1/16ths and do 99% of jobs. Say, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8. If you get into 7/16 or 1/2 you're chasing some pretty large fasteners that may not be a parking-lot job. Get some 1/8 if it...

Keeping both corded and cordless of some tools?

This. Cordless haters love to rabble rabble rabble about cost(s), obsolete batteries and longevity but if you're in the trades TIME IS MONEY IF a cordless tool allows you to complete a given task in less time or with greater ease, most of the arguments thrown at cordless tools vanish. By no...

    Round wire brushes for drill

Damn I like that kit. May pick it up. Still, I'm trying to clean welds between tightly spaced pipes. I often need the face, not just the periphery. I found some of what I kinda want on Amazon, but you've gotta buy them with a bunch of extra styles I don't really need.

    Round wire brushes for drill

You used to be able to find these on a card at the HF "impulse buy" racks at the registers. Now, I'm struggling to find replacements. This isn't a wire wheel or a wire cup brush but rather just a "straight" brush. Anyone got suggestions for a source? Preferably several different sizes

tools to keep in the vehicle

To me a basic DMM is non-negotiable. Sometimes just checking battery voltage tells you worlds about a no-crank condition

Best place to buy single, USA made quality drill bit replacements

mscdirect.com --> search "drill bits" --> refine results --> Made in USA, select YES Order by 8p EST, select Next Day Air Saver, have your bits tomorrow at Ground rates (panicdemic stupidity may affect this)

Tools you long for but can't justify

The M18 mag drill and the Mastercool crimping set. The latter is likely going to be a purchase in the next couple years

Milwukee M12 Heated Vest/Jacket Battery Alternative

Yep, Milwaukee will power DeWalt and Bosch. As mentioned above, if it's a Bosch heated product you have to plug and unplug three times. The jacket expects to see three hot pulses before "initiating" I learned this from GJ, wasn't smart enough to figure it out myself My wife actually prefers...

    Milwaukee 9.0 battery lights

It's weird some people are getting 8.0's and others 12.0's, although really either one is a considerable upgrade from the problematic 9.0's....

    Hydraulic fittings and porta-powers

Failing a plug 'n play adapter, I'm fine with just swapping fittings. Problem is, both ends of the hose seem to be 3/8 NPT but any 3/8 NPT fittings I have in the shop only go in maybe 2 threads and stop. The Newtry threads ARE tapered but the thread pitch seems to be just BARELY off if I lay...

    Hydraulic fittings and porta-powers

This entire thing may be a bad idea but I've got a Newtry hydraulic pump from Amazon. Seems to be like an Enerpac knock off (I think). I'd like to use it with my el-cheapo import 10T porta-power attachments but being in different leagues the connections are different on the end of the hose...

Worst stuck bolts I’ve ever come across X2

I'd be amazed if an OMT does much of anything except waste your time. They're handy for a lot of things, but cutting metal is not one of them (they do ok on nails, though)

    Milwaukee 9.0 battery lights

Nice! I've been meaning to call them and see if they'll warranty this 9.0. They really should stop with the stupid Russian Nesting Boxes -- it seems like a huge waste of resources and I doubt they're refurb'ing the old 9.0s they get back

Finally busted my HF breaker bar

Not only that but Duralast --mentioned in this thread back in '19 -- overall is in a Craftsman-esque race to the bottom. Just 5 to 6 years ago we had threads about gems in their lineup -- and there were quite a few. Today most things have been redesigned to be cheaper and crappier. Similarly...

    Best all-round clamps?

16" is borderline huge for most general fab. Will the "tail" fit everywhere you need if you're only clamping, say, 3 to 4"? I like the Bessey Morpads but I also kinda like the Strong Hands with pipe adapter. If you ever need to clamp on a radius consider those. Here's a way to lighten your...

The Napa Auto Parts Website is Frustrating

I will say, too, the NAPA "contact us" on their website is almost useless. I tried contacting about Carlyle warranty and one time no response. Ever. Next time got a very unhelpful reply over 2 weeks later. Their loyalty program ***** too because they won't let you stack $5 rewards. I...

The Napa Auto Parts Website is Frustrating

Yes! Their website is cumbersome. Even part # cross reference is difficult because sometimes a simple dash makes it not come up, or say you want an industry standard 282 bearing but they will only show it as an "NB282", assuming the NB is Napa Bearing for the purposes of this example
