    LVL header question

So I'm getting a 2 ply 9 1/2" LVL for the header on my overhead 16' foot garage door. I going with 3 jacks as recommended by the Lumberyard. However I saw mention somewhere that I should keep the whole 18 feet instead of cutting it 16' 9". If I did that, what would the framing look like? The...

    My Garage Build 24x24

Day six was more of the same. I kept adding conduits for my power and communication. I'm now 10 feet from the house and will handle backfilling on my own. I also want to keep that end open for inspection just in case. Forms are all finish and all spiked in with 6x6 and rebar all the way...

    My Garage Build 24x24

Thursday (Day 5) was busier. As they were laying out the forms, one of the guys dug my trench for the power. Good thing because they pulled some huge boulders that I couldn't have moved on my own. We put the conduits in through the slab for a clean finish.

    Power to Garage

I'm wondering what is the proper way to transition from an LB on the outside of the house to the inside of my utility room where my Breaker Panel is. Can I use another LB and just turn it 90 degrees towards my breaker panel a couple of feet away? Thanks Here's where I'm at:

    Garage Door Jamb Framing

I'm in the same dilemma LOL I just posted a cad picture of mine today in my question. I notice your sketch is not quite accurate. If you leave your 2x6 full width, that's 5 1/2 minus your flat 2x6(1 1/2") that leaves you 1/2" sticking out on the outside. In my case I was thinking of just...

    Hello from Halifax, NS

Hi, in the process of building a 24x24 heated garage on a slab. Just got my building permit after waiting 35days. I'm having the slab poured by someone who knows what he's doing and will do the rest myself. Cheers, Claude
