    In wall or conduit?

Transportation is a big part of the price of conduit. It's heavy, it doesn't fit in boxes, etc. I'm not sure where you are in 'Atlantic Canada', but it's possible if you go to a big city, it'll be cheaper. You'd have to transport it yourself, of couse, so it might not be any real savings...

    O/A cart

Junkyard I used to go to had cutting torch wagons. three oxygen bottles and a big propane tank mounted at 45 degrees in a four wheeled cart, along with long hoses and a huge fire extinguisher. they had car wheels on them, with mismatched hubcaps.

THHN double the price of Romex?

solid thhn should be a few bucks cheaper, and with 12 and 14 awg not really any harder to deal with. If you don't have to, do not pull a ground wire, the conduit is a sufficient ground path. In a short to ground, the conduit has so much surface area its impedance is much lower than the wire...

Can someone check my wiring in a sub-panel?

You need a four wire feed, separate ground and neutrals, and two ground rods, and remove the bonding jumper. If you hired someone to do this I hope you have not paid them yet.

Whole house Air conditioning AC unit issues.

That’s pretty sensible of customers, though. $500 to produce a $5000 repair estimate on a system that will break again is good money after bad, when replacement is twice that. Lots of people here are coming from a commercial or industrial background, where spending money to fix things makes...

Some very basic questions about Mr. Cool install

You need a suitable breaker in the panel, feeding a disconnect at the outside unit. The disconnect may or may not need to be fused, depending on what the name plate on your unit says. (The name plate, not what the manual says, not what someone tells you in email or on the phone , but the name...

    The Everything 3D Printer Thread

several years ago, I talked to a guy who ran a shop in a university art school. They'd gotten a 3d printer, and was surprised that the thing he'd helped the most people with printing were funnels, most with threads on the end. So much so, his staff had written a tutorial "so, you want to print...

Little to no cold water in bathroom

Good mop faucets have check valves to prevent that. So do restaurant prerinse faucets, which can cause the same problem, because no turns off the water at the knobs, they rely on the sprayer valve.

    Electric hoist question

I had a buddy that had a similar set up. He rigged a manual chain fall in with his hoist, and used that for the delicate bit of getting the top on or off his truck. the hoist did the bulk of the lifting up into his loft where he stored it.

    Applying glue via syringe

If you go to somewhere like amazon, you can buy an assortment of plastic syringes with a Luer lock fitting, and and assortment of 'needles' (they're mostly blunt, not pointed, that's not a problem for glue etc, since you don't have to pierce the skin...) of various sizes, shapes, and material...

Questions on Sistering New Rafters/Rafter Ties/ Ridge Board

The garage at the house I grew up in was built like that. The house was built in the 20s, the garage was newer and would have comfortably held two full-size 60s station wagons, plus the lawnmower and general stuff. so bigish two car garage, with a single big door. It was spindly as all hell...

2016 Mustang GT with a 1967 Fairlane body

If you have the diagrams, and the theory and operation of the circuit, it's likely there's a way to send the correct signal back to make the bcm happy. I'd be surprised if you can't find out what it is.

Roofing shingles "seconds," anyone have any experience with them?

Weight is an important indicator of quality, though, so light shingles are missing rocks, and minght not last as long. Might well make sense ofr some applications still, but something to keep in mind. When I regularly took the train into Chicago a couple decades ago, there was a house I looked...

    Hard wired heater and thermostat

Have you called and asked? while it's entirely possible they don't support it, it's also possible they do, or can direct you to someone who might have the parts you wnat. Worst that happens is you waste a little time.
