those look like an older armstrong VCT product. typically the only rubber I know of is made by Nora and typically looks like most epoxy floors with chips.

legitimately my least favorite part of building things.

varies. I've got 1/4-20 bolts that fit through the holes for mounting them into t-track, I've used them on their own with clamps to help square up materials for gluing, screwing, welding etc. depends on what I'm making. could screw them directly to a surface as well if you'd like.
